Okay, there are people asking about the advanced techs in Smash Bros so in this topic I will post links to useful places to learn about them. I will start three the three most obvious links where you can start your path to advanced Smash Bros playing.

Those are three videos made by a character called "Wak" over at Smash Boards. They'll give you a nice little intro into the advanced world... he is working on Part 4 as you can see so that link will be posted when its released.

And if you wish to know the sort of talent that lies out there I'll start by posting links to some vids for who I think is currently best Smasher in the world. He is a man named Ken, he plays Marth as his main (he plays as a few other characters as well eg. Fox).

EDIT 08/09: Global Smasher Compendium

A very useful program which shows the location of HUNDREDS of Smashers from around the world, it runs through Google Earth so you may have to download that first. Link can be located by clicking the source but I'll post them here if its easier for people who are lazy like me.

Its amazing how many of these things you can do, and you don't actually realise how useful they are until you see those vids. Even the smallest of things, like L-Cancelling... insanely useful.

So I see someone voted "No" on the Tier List being useful. Care to give reasons? Lol.

Their skill is incredible. When Brawl comes out I hope to be at least close to their level. And I would be honoured if I got the chance to speak to the almighty NEO, I've replied to one of his posts on SmashBoards but thats a forum so it doesn't count.

Regardless these guys are pros, and they know the tricks of the game lol tricks that we all need to learn to stand up to them.

I want to know how many people use the JoyStick to jump I use Y/X whichever it is. I find the joystick hard.

I would love a chance to play Ken over the internet in SSB Brawl someday that would be great!

HOLY WaveDashing is so hard!!

once your used to it its amazingly easy - its hard to learn easy to do

i realized after watching the video i already do those things but i never knew there was a name for it.

The Tier list is the character is in the order of who is generally a better character. So Top Tiers are great characters down the ladder til you reach the sub-par Low Tiers.

Its just a way of showing where your character stands.

Say there was a: Mewtwo vs. Falco match.

And say they were both pros, Falco would win... unless the Mewtwo player could create some sort of miracle with his character, most of the time Falco would win.

(Yes I am aware the broken characters are towards the top, its just because they are so damn good... tourney people favour them ALOT)

And I agree, Wavedashing is hard to learn but once you know it, you can do it without even thinking... it can take months to get to that stage though.

i can do it about 95% of the time - every now and then i stil make a wave landing instead of a dash

Yeah I get it maybe 90% of the time, I change characters alot so it varies by character.

As Roy and Marth I get it around 90% of the time.
As Mario and Luigi I get it 99% of the time (But its easy as him)
As Samus I get it about 95%
As Shiek I get it about 50% (I'm still learning with Shiek)
And as for C. Falcon, I rarely get it as I only started playing as him today.

I like to think my character list is well spread throughout the Tier List.

shiek you have to be faster with wavedashing...

is there actually any point wavedashing with fox - he is fast anyway...

Is there anyway you can do it with Falco?

Yes there is, its do-able with EVERY character, just the timing varies. The aim is to jump and then whilst holding down left or down right on the joystick press the dodge button BUT that must be done as the jump animation is starting.
