And Another Thing...
Fans of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy rejoice (maybe). Jane Belson, wife of the late Douglas Adams, has given permission to Eoin Colfer (author of the Artemis Fowl series) to write a 6th book titled, And Another Thing...
My first reaction was semi-outrage that anyone should be allowed to tamper with this incredible series. But on reflection I realised that this is a wonderful opportunity to work with characters I have loved since childhood and give them something of my own voice while holding on to the spirit of Douglas Adams. I feel more pressure to perform now than I ever have with my own books.
I love his books and could not think of a better person to transport Arthur, Zaphod and Marvin to pastures new. The project has my full support
What do you guys think? Should anyone be allowed to write another book in this series? Will it even be accepted by the fan community? The book is set to be published in October of 2009.

RE: And Another Thing...
I read a couple... they where ok.
But seriously, when the guys know what their doing, other people continuing the work works well. (Take a look at the James Bond novels)

They still sold like hot cakes.
I didn't say it was good for the readers.

I think Devil May Care was Penguins most pre-ordered and fastest seller ever, I stand to be corrected though.

Dunno about this. But James Bond has done it. And the Tolkien mythologies have had it done now as well. So I suppose this was inevitable.
Will have to wait to see how it turns out though.
