Anyone know how I can fix this

So when I downloaded NXE and it was installing, the sound cut out (thought it was my TV or something because it occasionally does that when I reset my 360). Turned off and back on the TV and no sound still.

Anyways I tried alot of different things and the only way to get sound was on a composite connection. Component or HDMI gave no sound. But then on the Xbox forums I posted there asking how to fix it, some guy told me to take off the harddrive, turn on the 360, plug back in the harddrive while the 360 is at the dashboard and then the 360 automatically reset, and now I have sound. So everything is back to normal except now I have to do that little harddrive trick EVERY time I go to play 360 lol. Its not really a major problem but I'd rather have a REAL fix to it than doing this every time...

by the way does anyone know why that harddrive trick actually works? I don't understand how, but at the same time can't complain

I've heard about that harddrive fix...

This seems to be a widespread issue, and I believe I heard somewhere that they're working on a patch to be out in a day or two.

go into audio options and turn OFF dolby 5.1 with WMA to just Dolby.

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I have it set to Stereo. I tried turning to dolby 5.1 but that obviously didn't fix it, so I changed it back to Stereo and its there now
