BBC America - Best Comedies

Whoever said that british comedy doesnt travel across the pond, hasnt been watching these little gems.

Of course, the Office is the best of the bunch, and it christmas special will go down as the best series finale ever in my mind.

But I just finished Spaced, a hilarious seinfeldian sitcom starring Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead fame (one the eps. actually served as inspiration to make the film) and it was a great series. Think I need to pick up the DVD.

That Mitchell and Webb Look is really good, maybe even better than their previous Peepshow.

I love the Trailer Park Boys, but its not for everyone.

I just wish their were more series, it seems to take them forever to get over here (except for Graham Norton, we get those right away) and the BBC must be incredibly cheap, because these shows last a couple seasons and then poof they are gone.

BTW, I purposely left off the old classics like monty python and fawlty towers, wanting instead to focus on the newer (this decade) stuff.

So, any other fans, which ones do you like, and what am I missing?

The Mighty Boosh.

However, in the event I can't pick that I'd go with The Office.

RE: BBC America - Best Comedies

I thought spaced was a channel 4 comedy here...>_<

Anyway, I'm not sure if America has received the new seasons of that mitchell and webb look and peepshow yet but they're pretty good!

"She's stealing sex from me..."

Anyway, Mighty Boosh is pretty good. As is Not going out, Lee Mack is awesome :3

Quiet you, Cappin'

The Australian Kath and Kim isn't too bad. But I dread how the American version will go. They did end up butchering The Office.

oh thats just wrong, you take that back right now, the US office is one of the few brit imports they have gotten right (coupling was horrible),

nothing can TOP the original, but it is very good, one of top 5 comedies on tv over here

RE: BBC America - Best Comedies

I enjoyed the first season and a bit, but then it got stale and just isn't as interesting anymore. And Carrell really isn't that funny (imo) anymore.

Are You Being Served and Keeping Up Appearances are still the best IMO.

It certainly isn't great, but I find it funnier than say... Little Britain (which I'm really not a fan of)

GO THE OFFICE AND OTHER

The Office is great, and tbh I've never heard or watched any of the others, aha.

RE: BBC America - Best Comedies

Yeah, little Britain is an English thing mainly so that's why it appeals to us more. It's good but not as great as everyone says.
