In an article entitled "PlayStation bounces back" BBC's editor of their online Technology news index, Darren Waters, reveals why he considers the PS3 to be back on track. Waters has been shown a few exciting projects behind closed doors, including a gameplay demo of Motorstorm 2. No longer set in a desert, the game will feature a "lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation." Not only that, but in response to numerous criticisms leveled at the original Motorstorm, the sequel will have four-player split screen. The game is due out in time for Christmas this year.

Waters was also shown a trailer for Resistance 2, another huge upcoming first party title, which he describes as "epic." We're looking forward to seeing the trailer for ourselves whenever it's released to the pubic. Finally, Waters teases about a game which isn't due out until 2009 and which is shrouded in complete secrecy. It seems to have left him impressed because he states that he "was left speechless. If the footage I was shown truly is 'in game,' as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion."

Anyone else got goosebumps right now? It sounds like Sony have got some exciting stuff on the horizon for us. Judging from GDC, however, we need to remain patient for just a little bit more before we become privy to their plans.

Maybe, but the way the Sony Exec acted when asked about "the game", I'm guessing it's something that hasn't even been on our radar yet.

I almost forgot to read the rest of the article when I saw Motorstorm 2 with 4 player split screen! Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talking about. Give me more split screen games for when I'm lazy to go online. I play multiplayer games a lot and love them.

So what exactly do you take issue with in this article? Do you think Darren Waters is lying about what he's witnessed? He talks about 2 games we know are coming this year, and one that he thinks will be amazing in 2009. So what is there to dispute?

Back on track, ok i don't really have a problem with this as it's his own opinion and eveyone knows the PS3 has had a rocky start.

did you play motorstorm 1, i'd hardly call a sequel exciting, and everyone knew it's due out at chrismas, so no news there.

Resistance 2.... oooo wow i can't wait to see if this sucked as much as the first one, ooo prity graphics, i wonder if they've fixed the gameplay for the sequel.

With the death of HD DVD, SONY has now cornered the HD video market with it's propriotery 'BLUERAY' format.
The DRM heavy, long access times, region coded, format, with future ability to lock disks to specific player (signaling the possible end to the second had game market.) and playing bio-degradeable 'paper disks' to remove the hastle of video rental returns, now stands unoppossed.
Sony's PS3 with it's inbuilt 'BLUERAY' drive remains one of the cheepest blueray players on the market to date, and with still to come further pricedrops it will remain the cheepest, also this marval of the modern time(using the term 'very' loosly), is future proofed, as it allows firmware updates to happen easily, meaning when future 'additions and upgrades' happen to the blueray format the consumer can just update the PS3, not having to buy a new one.

Sales figure have shown an upsurge in PS3 sales since the announcement from toshiba, as electronic outlets stear there customers onto the PS3 bandwagon over 'stand alone' blueray players.

Again, if you have an issue with the reporter, then that's fine, you can probably send him an email, but to act like an ass in here really doesn't make sense and only makes you look bad, especially when everyone has been quite tolerant and chosen to listen to your arguement.
