Black Wii Remote Found on the FCC Website
In his daily crawl through the FCC website, WiiLoaded member zsakul2 may have just uncovered something huge. It seems that Mitsumi Electric Co. Ltd., makers of Wii's motion sensing controller, have registered a product with the FCC under ID# POO-WC45. This item is none other than a jet black Wii remote. While the pictures are somewhat blurry and the Wii logo is still missing from its face, and the Nintendo logo can be seen on the battery cover on the back. The layout and design of the buttons is also identical to the current controller so it could not belong to a third party unless they're prepared for one hell of a lawsuit.
Logically, an official black Wii remote would lead you to believe that Nintendo also plans to release black Wii consoles at some point in the future. While we don't believe it will happen while Wiis are still hard to find it seems that the company is planning ahead. Nintendo has made no official announcement regarding black remotes or consoles and we wait to see what they have to say on this issue.

I've got to be honest, I dig the white.
That being said, I don't see the whole big deal about consoles coming out in different colors. That is, among people who already have one. If I was just buying my wii, it might be fun to try and decide which color I would select.
Anyway, just rambling.

That's usually what happens with different colors of official controllers...

You've said it all. It lacks the shine that the white Wii remote has.
Even if this is a sign of new Wii colours to come, they are pointless to me. I am not going to buy a new Wii, when I already have a white one, just for a new colour.

I wouldn't buy a new console just because a new color has been released. But seems as I don't have a Wii yet I think I would be tempted to buy a Wii this color.
