So with less than 3 months until Christmas most of the videogame industry is set to release their A-material over the last quarter of 2008(except for the Wii...), and we as consumers collectively open our wallets and tell them to help themselves. This year's selection is particularly exceptional for the Xbox 360 (lots of these games on PS3 too). Which Q4 games are you planning to buy?

My antec power supply [literally] burned out so I need a new one before I'm able to use my GPU... back to the stock PSU and onboard video for now

(obviously I'm not getting this kind of game for the 360)

Still not sure about the whole DRM thing on C&C... I hate EA, and as much as I love C&C (have purchased every one when they came out), I might have to skip this one just to make the point.

Crap, this Christmas season is making me SUPER broke. I've actually created a spread sheet budgeting my money so that I have enough for all of the games I have pre-ordered/plan on pre-ordering, as well as rent, utilities, groceries, etc.

I have the following preordered:

Dead Space, SOCOM: Confrontation (I know, PS3, but I'm making a point here...), Saint's Row 2, Rock Band 2 full bundle, Midnight Club: LA, Fable 2 Special Edition, Little Big Planet (see SOCOM), Guitar Hero: World Tour full bundle, Fallout 3 Special Edition, Resistance 2 Collector's Edition (see LBP), Gears of War 2 Limited Edition, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, and Call of Duty: World at War Special Edition

On top of that I still need to preorder Left 4 Dead, Mirror's Edge, The Last Remnant, Prince of Persia...it's crazy. I'm B-R-O-K-E on my A-S-S

Those I games I'm HOPING to own. In reality I'll get Fallout 3 and GH:WT sometime next year, b-day probably.

This holiday season, there are just so many games to get. For myself that is! It seem as if the last two holiday seasons have been jammed packed with A+ titles from all three platforms. This year in particular, the 360 has out shined the opposition! [IMO]

My list of top 5 must have titles that I will get this season, and you should get too!


1. Gears of War 2

- Epic Studios landed a surefire hit with Gears; its gritty. Its action packed. The multiplayer is just addicting. Easily top three in online multplayer, Gears of War is one the most competitive games to play on the 360. With the new stuff thats on GoW2, it will be even more intense! New weapons, rebuilt maps, new playlist, and best of all, new combat tactics! Yes I will buy the GoW2 Limited Edition it is just too awesome to not buy.

2. Left 4 Dead

- This game has been getting buzz on and off. Its nowhere near Resident Evil or Alone in the Dark kind of scary. Its the way zombies games are supposed to be, terrifying, intense, and just plain old piss in your pants fun. L4D is a FPS but not like your standard FPS, its pretty much team oriented. I dont know much but judging from the screen and vids, its a game i will not miss at all. If there was collector's edition i would totally buy it!

3. Call of Duty: World at War

- Ok at first, when I saw this game I was like, "Dude... what the hell? WWII?! AGAIN?!" Then I realized that CoD3 had a interesting ending [never finsihed CoD3 dont ask why], so Treyarch* [i think thats how you spell their name] was tasked to finish the fight! [c wut I did thar?] using the same engine from CoD4, CoD3.5, as I like to call it, is looking to be a great hit after all. Mix in Co Op online story mode, Addict CoD4 similar multiplayer [perks] and vehicles! You have a nice little game there! No this is not CoD5, CoD5 is going to IW. Yes there is CE version, and Im getting that too.

4. 007: Quantum of Solace

- Dude, another FPS? Yeah, it is just a average shooter. But it seems to have soo much potnetial! Maybe Im looking for that, "goldeneye" again from QoS. But have you seen the trailers? If you haven't find them in very good quality and maybe you may see what I see. The game uses the same engine found in CoD4, and has 3PS functions such as taking cover and what not. Not to mention online multiplayer. Not too interested in the story because I know it wont be a exact tie in Casino Royale or QoS but it will be entertaining!

5. Saints Row 2

- Ok, I know finally not a FPS but still a shooter. =/ Yet I've been waiting for this game for so long. I love GTAIV, but after I completed the missions... what else is there to do? There is a lot of course but nothing really meaningful. Saints Row had me bsuy until the 360 made a unplayable mark on the disc! the game is just too much fun. The sequal has a lot more to offer; complete costumization, drop in and out co-op, new multiplayer mechanics, more missions, and vehicles! I know I missing stuff but its a must buy for the holiday.


Ok those are my top five, but there are others that I plan on getting that are worth mentioning at least.

Too many games are coming out soon. LittleBigPlanet, Bioshock (PS3) and Spider-Man all come out ON THE SAME DAY!!! Gawd! Why do they make me spend so much money?

No love for Far Cry 2? I'm stoked about this game and I never even played the first one...

Yeah, that does look awesome, I think it's just got overshadowed by other games that everyone is so hyped about.

Im not too sure about far cry because I never played the 1st one, yet i want to play it too

I've already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of Fall Out 3. Can't wait for this game; the lunchbox is so snazzy.

I'll also be buying 2 copies of Left 4 Dead (One for me, and another for my brother) as soon as it's available on Steam. If my cousins don't buy it by Christmas, they'll be getting it from me too. xD


I'd also be buying Mirror's Edge and Dead Space. Especially Mirror's Edge, that game looks amazing. But alas, EA is producing... and I just can't allow myself to support them. If they smarten up on PC gaming and get rid of their 'effing DRM then I'll buy Mirror's Edge ASAP.
