Some of you disgust me.. Who cares if the character is gay or not, you shouldn't change your feelings on the character no matter what his sexual preference is. It just really doesn't matter at all, and some of you are making out it is a big deal.
Well this could offend some gay/bi/les readers, I am bisexual and you should treat us and gays, and lesbians the same.

Its just his sexuality...Why loose respect for him? Thats just pafetic.
i wont try and change theyre preferences, i feel no anger towards them, and im not about to go on a rant and say mean names, but they just FREAK ME OUT. if its theyre right to be gay its my right to be a homophobiac. i dont go around calling them "pathetic"or saying that they "disgust me", because theyre still humans and deserve respect, so you should do the same to me >_>. I mean imnot about to go and cower in fear in the corner whenver i see one but im not about to go out of my way to say hi or start a conversation with one sorry.
and to end on a lighter noter, oddly enough im not scared of lesbians. lol

Ok then, So let's just say, Just because I am bi doesn't mean I don't want to go out of my way to have a conversation with a straight person. That's just basically the opposite of what you said and that sounds a bit wrong, but Just because of my sexual preference, I don't go out of my way to talk to other bi's or gays. Everyone is human and we all deserve equal rights so why should you want to talk to a straight guy and not a gay guy because of his sexual preference? I don't believe in homophobia, people who supposedly have it are just wrong because they don't accept others for who they are (sexual preference wise).

ok...this has gotten a little out of control; if it gets any more heated in here, i will not hesitate to lock this thread.
FPS Nate - i understand where you're coming from, and i don't think anybody was accusing you of being rude to them...prior to lee. however, even though you do have a fear of them, you shouldn't respect them less because of it.
lee - people with homophobia are different from the radical Christians and others that rally with hatred toward gays, lesbians, and any other sexual orientation other than straight. like Nate said, its the fear of them. personally, i have no issue being friends with them, hell they're some of the best people i know (and the guys are the best to take along shopping) but if they start making out in front of me i admit that i do get a little weirded out. its not that i want to be, but it's subconscious. please do not start flaming those that are homophobic, because half the time that's also subconscious. do people want to be afraid of the dark? no, but some are. same goes with any phobia, no matter how weird or terrible or fake it sounds. Nate was not bashing anybody in his opinion or posts, so you shouldn't have jumped on him like that.
but honestly, if people go around flaunting the fact that they're gay/lesbian/bi/any of the other categories, then they're asking to be singled out as such. if you don't want sexual preference to matter, then don't advertise it. until there's a greater tolerance for it, that's the only way to allow people to be seen equally.
hell, Dumbledore for example - could you guess that he was gay? he didn't flaunt it, he didn't provide any proof for or against it...and so people didn't take his sexual preference into account. but now that Rowling let that news out, there are probably going to be millions of readers going back through and analyzing everything he did and said to find the proof, and will read the books "differently" knowing the truth.
but cool your pits, everyone. people are entitled to their opinions, no matter how different from yours they are, or how "stupid" they seem to you. if you can't tolerate each other, then how do you expect tolerance to spread? no more dragging in ads, or bashing anyone. the next person that does so will make me mad, and i will not hesitate to lock this thread and warn you.

okay first i must say i dont have a best guy friend i got a group of friends that ive known for like 8 years like maybe 10 -15 theyre all on the same level friendshipwise we all know eachother and have been in the same class since like gr 7 (some as early as kindergarten and some as late a gr 9)ann theyre ma boyz that being said ill try and answer this question.
lol hmm, id definately get mad because all of ma boyz do some pretty gay stuff sometimes (no offense meant by that remark and no i will not explain lmao put it this way it seems gay, but it isnt?) id be mad becuase they forsure tricked me like 100% not just like dumbledore and if one of them actually did come out of the closet im pretty sure that would realy shake up our whole group but i think he'd be ok. i forsure wont grapple with him anymore after ufc (sounds gay also but really isnt and no offense.) put it this way id touch him much less thats the thing that would change. (my phobia isnt as bad as i made it sound, i just couldnt get out the right words to make it sound mellow and it came out sounding hardcore lol)
lol and about the dumbledore thing, i guess he didnt really trick me but at the time i posted that i felt he did and he was my favorite character. but what i mean about respect is the respect they deserve, like not being mean to them that will not change (like respecting them as a person) but the way he/they are viewed in my head is. the dumbledore thing was just how he went down a couple notches in my head. if this makes any sense: i respect them and theyre feelings/rights but something in my head changes.
and abot how far my phobia goes is that i prefer not to associate or get near one if i have a choice, its not that strong but its there.
