Iwata Not Bothered About Wii Remote Rivalry

Not so long ago, rumours flooded the Internet that claimed Microsoft would be creating a new motion-sensing controller, much like the Wii Remote. I suppose this is the logical step forward for Microsoft; Sony has the Six Axis controller, and Nintendo has its magic wand. But it appears that Nintendo don't feel threatened by the Wii Remote rivalry. Here's what Nintendo's President Satoru Iwata had to say on the matter:

"We are not concerned about what other companies may do," Iwata claimed. "We're rather more concerned with presenting... new ideas to our customers based on the prospect that our existing customers will surely get tired of gameplay enabled by the Wii Remote if we do not try to improve the experience."

So, overall, a big resounding 'Meh' from Iwata. Nintendo are doing better than ever now, can the competition slow them down?

I don't think Microsoft or Sony will go casual, if so then hello PC gaming, but I say no to that last question, if Nintendo keeps thinking up new ideas, then people are gonna keep buying, or looking XD.

That would be so cheap if sony or microsoft actually did something like this. But I think they are always going to be hardcore, so they will probably not do this.

They may make a couple of games around this, perhaps even a handful but I don't think that Microsoft will be going casual. They'll stick to the more "hardcore" games but might just try to attract some of the casual crowd in the meantime.

I pray that's a mock-up. Also they shouldn't realy be worried cause they were the first and original, so anything after that won't get the same praise and attention.

I do remember hearing about the possibility of Microsoft stea-- I mean, developing a controller similar to the Wiimote. Hopefully that picture is a mock up, or else I'm starting to smell a lawsuit.

MS doesnt lose lawsuits even when they do, remember when netscape 'won' their lawsuit against MS windows/explorer, where are they now?
