LBP Motorstorm and Animals costumes priced and dated for US
As we guessed when we saw a similar set of LittleBigPlanet DLC offered to Japan two days ago, the costume of Toro, the main character of Mainich Isshyo, has been left out in the US release. Replacing the feline will be a MotorStormer costume, as seen above. On the left of the MotorStormer is a freebie based on the winning design of the SCEE costume contest, a Sack-Eating Plant.
The remaining costumes are the same wildlife ones from the Japanese release, and now they have names: Lilly Pad (chameleon frog), Hugo (gorilla), Great Blue (shark) and Frost-E (penguin). The animals can be purchased individually for $0.99 each or as a 4-pack for $2.99. The MotorStormer will be $1.99. All of them will make their US debuts tomorrow, November 13th, on the PS Store. Head over to the official LBP blog to check out the rest of the costumes.

This is a really cool idea and I think the whole costume thing will really sell well...I know I'll be buying some of these new costumes

Ugh, they're SO expensive
Maybe 25 cents a pop, but a dollar? Or two? I hate the way micro transactions are going these days. It's EASY to spend more on DLC than the cost of the actual game

Qft. I hate not having them either; it makes me feel like the developer pulled a fast one on me bye getting me to purchase an incomplete game. Anyone who's buying want to PSN share?

It's not like the costumes do anything special for the game, so I'm not sure why anyone would feel like their getting screwed by the publisher selling costumes.

Because I hate microtransactions with every fiber of my being. If DLC is being released so shortly after release I start to resent their release under the (false) impression that it could have been put in the final game. You can just leave it at I hate being nickel and dimed.
I like the Gorilla Sackboy costume though. The sack eating plant is pretty lame imo..

Whatever happened to developers adding extra content to their games after release as a "thank you" for the people that bought their games?

It could be worse...they could be charging you to play this game online with others

That doesn't seem too badly priced. And besides, no one is forcing you to buy costumes. They don't make the game feel incomplete. They are literally just additional content that the game doesn't require to run properly. Now if it had come out as a half-assed game needing heaps of downloadable content to run the game itself, then I'd be bitching.

oh boy...here we go again...
Yeah I'm not too keen on microtransactions. Especially when it's just costumes and stuff that doesn't effect gameplay.

I'm ok with this kind of DLC because it doesn't really change the game by wearing a different costume. They don't give you any special power or anything. If you like them then you have the choice to get them. I do hate DLC that should have been included in the game though like the characters that were left off the disc (or unlocked by buying them) that should have been on there in the first place. DLC was supposed to be able to bring life back to games that you've already beaten or become bored of but most publishers or just leaving "ready" stuff off the disc just so they can charge you later for it. I'll download the free plant costume and may get the shark costume because it looks pretty cool.

If I ever buy LBP (and a PS3), I can see myself buying some of these.

"A far cry from the games that had made Nintendo famous such as Wii Sports and Wii Play, this new character was just like the vicious thugs that Sony and Microsoft had glorified with Master Grief and Smash Brandycot."

I just tire of the gaming industry pushing consumers and gouging them every chance they get. I hate to go off topic, so see the other post in the off topic forum.
Anyways, somewhat back on topic. If MM and Sony are so hell bent on copyright protection, why'd they select a costume that's not too far from little shop of horrors? They've pulled stages that had less copyright infringement.
