Metroid Prime New Play Control Japanese Trailer
While the idea of simply having Wii control enhanced ports of old GameCube games normally wouldn't get us too excited, things change when that "old GameCube game" ends up being Metroid Prime. One of the GameCube's best looking games it is truly a little sad to see that a game released in 2002 still looks better than many poor Wii efforts on the market.
The New Play Control version of Metroid Prime will adopt new Wii pointer and motion controls, mimicking those that were found in its successor Metroid Prime 3 on Wii. This means that visor changes are no longer mapped to buttons, but rather to the point and select method that was in present in Corruption, as you'll see in the Japanese trailer below.
edit: I'd forgotten that the main page doesn't deal well with embedded videos so click here to see the trailer.

I personally cannot wait for this. It'll be exciting to play the (somewhat) original with the amazing controls that were included with the MP3 package.
Pre-ordering.

Nice to hear it; hopefully some more will come along with Wii-specific controls, namely ones I haven't gotten.

Now that it has the MP3 controls, I believe the Wii version of the original is now the best in the series. Corruption was good but there was a part of it that felt just far too linear to me. Did anyone else get that vibe, or was it just me?

I got that vibe, and I haven't even finished it yet... Still...
It was so linear that I got lost trying to do fun stuff. ):

Yeah, I know what you mean. The art, controls, sounds, and everything else was superb and certainly the best looking, best sounding, and best playing Prime game, but the original felt like it was all about just exploring and doing the actual quests along the way whenever you felt like it.

RE: Metroid Prime New Play Control Japanese Trailer
If you even somewhat enjoyed Metroid Prime 3 then you NEED to get this game. Because this is what Corruption should have been like. Metroid Prime being the King of the Prime franchise makes both Echoes and Corruptions its equal bitches.
Cannot wait for this game to come out, I'll be ready for launch.

Same here, but I didn't really mind. I really should get to finishing it.
