Mr.Luben Reveiws Red Steel
One of the first games anounced for "Revolotion" was Red Steel. The game was to be the evelotion of FPS's. Now that the release has been long gone and well past us, how did the game transform the FPS industry? Will the game go down in ledgend or is it a stinker. You will find out in this full reveiw of Red Steel.

Story
Its time to meet the inlaw! You are Scott Monroe and are maddly in love with Miyu Sato, daghter to Isao Sato. You are in a Las Angeles hotel to met your feances father. You are walking to the door and suddenly, gang members descised as the hotel workers open deadly fire into were Isao's room! You try to help but in the end, Isao dies and your beautiful feance gets kidnapped. When you travel to tokyo, you find that Isao was actually the Oyabun of one of the largest Yakuza families! It is now up to you to go and rescue your fiance and return the Yakuza to order.
This is pretty well told through in game play and a surprisingly appelying storyboard style cut-scense. The thing that sucked was that the people were hard to recanise who they were and remember them. The faces weren't to great and that hurts the story score. The story was intreging but it felt to drawn out and got boaring. To sum it all up, it was good and then went bad...

Graphics
The game Red Steel has a graphics engine of a modified Unreal Engine 2.5. This engine was made to be a more a artistic and not photorealism. The gun graphics (lightning, movment, and responsivness) look great as well. All in all, i think that the graphics for this game are probly 2 or 3 best for the launch. There were a few nastyer places but not enough toreally bug me. Another thing that i greatly enjoyed were the vast amount of destructible items. Almost everything was destructible and could be blown to shreads! All in all, a great game visually.

Gameplay
The game takes full advantage of Wii's unique motion-sensing controles, along with the Numchuk, to control a katana and a firearm. The game is extremely in depth. Players can push objects to use them as cover by pushing the controller forward. Shaking the Nunchuk attachment reloads the gun. The player can also lob grenades in a more realistic way, with underhand or overhand, employing the controller as the object being thrown. Another big thing about this game was the Katana fights. At the begining of E3, we all thought that it was going to all be a free soward combat system...Well it is actually a move based system were there are moves already maped for you on the wii. This made me mad but that soon wore of and i got used to it. That will still hurt the score. Now on the the gun fights. The gun fights are all about finding a good stake out and staying there to pick of your foes. This was really boaring for me probly because i'm used to games like Ranbow 6 and Call of duty 3. It feels like a really tacked on arcade shooter with soward fights really...Another thing i must say about the gun fights is that the enemys were pretty stupid. Most of the time planly in sight and not trying to hid behind the enviorment....Sometimes they did, but they are still really dumb. Now its time to talk about the one that really ticks me off. It is really hard to turn. When your comeing around a corner and a dude starts to shot at you, you want to turn that second and kick his butt! Saddly, in Red Steel, this is a lacking factor. The turnig proseas took almost 5 to 3 seconds and felt very clunky. I felt very disipointed with the turning but overall it was fun and enjoyable.

Music
The music was fantastic! It was composed by the video game ledgend (in music at least) Tom Salta. His music was made to be fast pased and get your adrenalin running. Some of the best video game music i have ever heard. Its fast, awsome and great!
Story-7/10-Good to start but got old and drawn out...
Graphics-8.5/10-Great graphics with some bad spots
Gameplay-6.5/10-Hard to turn and lame stack outs
Music-9.5/10-Amazing, fast passed music!
Overall-6.8/10-I had fun, but at the same time it was painfull...
Get this game?-This is a game that is not recomened. It was fun but had to many kinks...Could have been better but it was very early in the Wii's life. Mabye Red Steel 2 will be better! Personly, i will be takeing this back to Gamestop. I see no reson to play it a second time..

Same from me. It was fun but it doesn't make me want to replay it again.

Nice review Luben, though I've seen many mixed reactions about the controls, some people love 'em, some hate. Suppose you hate good job nonetheless.

Graphics is my thing.

I went back to the game a couple days ago, and it was still fun, but far beyond what I would call a great, or even good game.
