N64 stories!
I've decided to create this thread for the purpose of everyone telling their memories of their beloved N64 consoles.
It seems just like yesterday when I used to play N64, ALL day long, technology has advanced so much, but we all can't help but go back to the N64 every now and then, (At least I still do). I remember, almost EVERY friday I would go to my best friend's house, and we would spend the entire night playing either Goldeneye or Perfect Dark, funny enough, I STILL own the original games, and the original N64.
Every now and then I'll bring up an old N64 game, blow the dust off the system and start playing, and I often find myself saying, "Oh yeah! I remember that!"
So if you want to relive some of those memories and share them with your fellow Wiiloaded members, feel free to do so here.

Thanks to punk330852 for the sig!

How about you own Snake with Pit and then I own you with one finger while cartwheeling into a tsunami.

RE: N64 stories!
Lol. I remember it was my first console game system. DK64 (Yes, it was one of the best games on the N64) was my first game (I got them in a bundle pack; DK64, expansion pack, jungle green N64 and controller). I was around 8 or 9 and I remember not being able to swim up when I dived down; I kept pressing the control stick up and thinking it would take me up. I had no idea they were reversed

Finally beating Samus's platform level on Super Smash Bros. that thing is friggin' hard. At least until you figure out how to get more distance on your jumps... Kirby's was pretty hard too.

RE: N64 stories!
Wow, this is a great thread.
In 1998 I was diagnosed with a rare nervous system disorder at the Seattle Children's Hospital at age 14. As part of my recovery, my doctor recommended a few weeks of physical therapy, the idea being to "force" my nerves into correct working order by putting me through the worst pain I'd ever been in my life. Well, luckily for me, the Seattle Children's Hospital is well funded and genuinely must have empathy for the children they treat, 'cause in every, yes EVERY, waiting room, there was an N64. My only encounter with the system at that point had been Mario 64 in a JCPenney's during Christmas season. I dabbled not only in Mario 64 while I was within the hospitals walls, but also in the housing they set us up in for their stay. They have a number of long term housing for families with sick kids who need therapy over the course of a period of time ie cancer kids in chemo. Since both my sister and I required the physical therapy (its a genetic disorder, she has it too, we decided to do our therapy together at the same time) we stayed in the Bowling House For Kids. And there, not only did they have an N64, but also a huge screen TV set up just for it, seperate from the regular TV. I was able to "rent" various games, but I fixated on Yoshi's Story. When that game ended up on the Wii catalogue, I nearly cried, as over the years I've attempted to track down a cartridge for it, but always failed for some reason. While you'd think that playing those games would only bring back memories of pain, it actually brings the memories of my relief in getting my mind OFF the pain. It also reminds me of my mother, busying herself in the group kitchen area to make us our favorite meals to comfort us while we played away. Since she wasn't around much and not the most endearing woman, it was when I felt most loved, I guess.
My second favorite N64 memory is from two years later when they bought me one for my sixteenth birthday. That Pod Racer package. Not a bad game! That N64 got me through some tough times when I really needed the distraction, particularly when I was 17 and my parents kicked me out and I was pulling a full honors course while working and living outside my parents' home. So many nights on LOZ:OoT! My body was destroyed every night by work and school and again, the N64 distracted me from all of it, the chaos, and the pain. I like to think it helped me "survive".
awww one last one. I was estranged from my family for a time because of some decisions I'd made, and my close relationship with my sisters had all but disappeared. Shortly after I dumped a loser boyfriend who'd alienated me from them, my sisters were free to hang out with me again, and this time, in my own apartment. I can't tell you how fun it is for three teenaged sisters, full of curse words and hellfire, to play Perfect Dark for hours. My roommate would just shake his head and laugh...and then probably go jerk off 'cause I bet it was hot. lol.
