New Wiimote Model in Production?
According to a rumor at QJ.net a new Wiimote may be in production that will include a better grip and have a rechargeable battery. Full article below.
We reported about the new Wiimote straps yesterday. But could it be possible that with these new straps a new Wiimote could also enter the scene? According to a rumor that first appeared in the Japanese magazine, Game Lab, Nintendo is allegedly already hard at work in making a new Wiimote.
This won't make your trusty controller obsolete, so don't go throwing it on a television or something. Apparently, the Game Lab rumor said that this new version will be sporting a better grip and will come with a rechargeable battery - two changes that are entirely possible to do.
Nintendo has apparently denied the said rumor, but that doesn't stop tongues from wagging like crazy. So with that, we leave the deciding up to you. Do you think this is nothing but a fake or do you think that it has a tinge of truth in it?

if this is true then thats awesome. There non rechargeble battery could be a nuissance. But we've got rechargeble ones now!

Interesting, I wonder if this is more than a rumour...
Luckily I haven't bought any spare Wiimotes yet.

Lemon, you still have only one Wiimote? I got 3 but waiting for Wii Play, which you've already got there. So jealous! Still, we can't forget the rumor that Wii Orchestra might come with a Wiimote as well. Maybe you're doing the right thing after all. Maybe you have some secret info you're not sharing!

I don't really mind though. I've got two remotes and waiting for wii play, so if they do redesign them i'll have one redesigned one. Yay.

Bring on the new remotes. I only have two. I sure would like to get some with rechargable batteries. I don't know about "new enhanced grip." I guess it would be nice.

There's actually a product like this, it's by an independent retailer, it's a charger station (fit for two wii-motes) that comes with two recharcheble battery packs and a custom back with special grip.
Recharcheble wii-mote station!
