RE: Nintendo Channel Finallys Hits the U.S.
First, I typed up this article at about 2:00 a.m. my time because no one was on at that time and I wanted it in the portal while it was still very fresh so forgive my "finalys". As for the "purchased for free" even I thought it looked strange but after reading several other articles on this topic I noticed that more than half of them said the exact same thing and even though it sounds funny it can and is often used. My brain doesn't function so well after midnight
Purchased for free is used a lot, but it drives me crazy. ;P

RE: Nintendo Channel Finally Hits the U.S.
This whole channel is very stupid. Just one big advertisement. *spits*
I strongly disagree with you! *spits at you*
its like a preview channel
I like it
get it
Oh yeah, awesome, a preview channel, just what I need since the whole bombardment of advertising online and elsewhere just isn't enough.
well dont forget you have DS demos, yeah they kinda blow nao but its only the first day.
there are also developer interviews and preview for upcoming ds games, wii games, and wiiware!
yeah there are some advertisements but there are also things on there that make you forget about it
expand your horizon

How about open your eyes?
Interviews: advertisement. Previews: advertisement. Hell, even demos are advertisements, but at least they have SOME use, so I'll give you that. Doesnt change the fact that the whole channel is little more than a Nintendo promotional tool, and I'm insulted by how very poorly they tried to disguise it.

(p.s. the world is one big advertisement....just get used to it)
Oh thank you, in your almighty wisdom, for opening my eyes to the phenomenon. Actually not ALL the world is an advertisement...ever heard of books? But I digress. I AM used to it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it, or even be indifferent to it. In fact, I'd say widespread indifference is probably why they get away with it so much. And honestly, its not even the advertising that aggravates me, its the fact that they're barely making an effort to even disguise it as something else, which I feel is an insult to my intelligence.

RE: Nintendo Channel Finally Hits the U.S.
Its Nintendo, they are a business. The lamest part is what they are doing is what the internet has been doing for longer... and the internet is better.
Hmm... narrow-minded Nintendo propaganda or websites like IGN and 1-up which will tell me all sides of the story whilst still giving me the same options (interviews and previews)
The ONLY interesting thing this garbage channel offers is DS demo's and even THEY aren't that good at the moment. So really the Nintendo Channel is a big bunch of "meh" mixed into one mediocre channel.

That's because companies tend to advertise so they can make money. It's this crazy thing called capitalism. Look, I know ads and such are annoying, but I'm sure once they have more content up the ads will decrease. Or maybe not, as they make Nintendo money when they display 'em. But if you don't like it then it's not mandatory. But I'd reccomend downloading it while we know it's still free (who knows, we've seen the Internet Channel for free but now it costs money so maybe this will one day as well) because eventually it'll be quite useful, just not yet.

Ninja gaiden was pretty cool, but I didn't like Cooking Mama at all. Pity, I had hopes for that series.

RE: Nintendo Channel Finally Hits the U.S.
It's called the Nintendo Channel for a reason. :l
Either way, I'm excited for more awesome (or, in this case: not so awesome) DS-to-Wii connectivity, because that's what I'm looking at the PSP an' PS3 towards. I <3 connectivity.
Also, Nintendo, I'm kinda tired of having to connect to the internet when I want to get a demo for my DS. Why not just give us an HDD to let us download demos? (If the DS had more internal memory, I would've said "full games", but we'll never get there this gen.) Otherwise, good job for trying.

Uuuuuuh I DID download it, thats why I know its crap. Its well within my right to b!tch about it, too. Scuuuuuuuuuuuse me that I can't tolerate overadvertising or the insult to my intelligence that thinly veiled advertising poses.
s1tch, yeah, you dont care that I like it, and I don't care that you do, I guess that makes us even. Except that it doesnt, because I'm not braindead enough to be amused with advertisements and demos that I can get online but are being masqueraded as the best damn thing because it happens to be a Wii channel. If you're so easily amused by that, perhaps its time to get a life, a brain, or both.
