Official Little Big Planet Thread
Let's have one thread dedicated to all things Little Big Planet instead of continually posting stuff in other threads that are slightly off topic.
I find I have to force myself to play it to unlock things. Playing through the "story" mode there are quite a few wow moments out of shear amazement at the level design, but I guess I just lost some of my excitement over this game with the 1 week delay. I was stoked for this game until the delay; at that point I kind of soured oun it. Hopefully it returns when I start creating again or if I see a fantastic new user level.
And hopefully they release our bonus costumes this Thursday.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
I'm waiting for the bonus dlc as well but there are tons of great costumes you can unlock playing through the game as well as making yourself. So far I've reached the last planet and am near the end but there's one part that is freaking crazy (wheel of torture). I'm going to go through all of the tutorials...again... tomorrow or the day after to unlock everything for creating. I don't think I'll be getting 100% of the trophies even though I thought I would when first seeing the list. I can't see myself being able to beat each stage without dying once. There are some at the end where I'd kill myself if I got close to finishing it and then died and had to restart.

Do they have any stats that tell you how many stages you've completed? How many overworlds are there? 20?

I didn't play it today so I'm not exactly sure. You can check by looking at the trophy list.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
I guess I beat the game last night. Kinda took me by surprise. They must count all the mini game levels as full levels since there were only about 20-30 real stages (with hidden items and a final goal).
On a side note, they apparently have started pulling copyright infringing material. I heard from the guy who made the Batman: Mission Arkham stage and he said they pulled it and the GoW stage sometime last night/today. I noticed another stage missing yesterday. I'm guessing they were do to copyrighted images being used via the PSeye.
I suggest if you see a level you really like and it uses copyrighted material you save it to your planet if at all possible. You may not get to play it again.

When you select a level one of the screens (the second one I believe) will have a Copy option. The creator has to allow it, and so far very few do.
People don't like others ripping their levels off and publishing them as their own.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
Man, I'm REALLY getting frustrated with this game. The controls are far too loose for me while trying to 100%. Trying to ace levels has become a huge pain, and it's largely due to plane shifting and the game's conservation of sackboy momentum (aka sliding instead of stopping). The pace of some of the levels drives me crazy as well. Let me blaze through a level if I know it in inside and out, don't make me wait on slow dog-carts to open doors or 20-30 steps to jump up. Mario bros this game is not.

If the GoW (God of War btw and not Gears of War for those wondering) stage is removed then I'm a sad puppy. That was honestly my favorite stage and I have played it so many times. I love the sacrificing parts.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
It was gone yesterday. The stupid thing about it is you can pretty much redo it as is using the GoW DLC from gamestop, so it wasn't necessary to remove.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
I downloaded the two outfits already and have a modified costume with the pumpkin head that I really like now. As for the shirt I also didn't see it in the U.S. store so it might be another week before it arrives. It won't be free though. There should also be some dlc to buy for this game next week even though I thought it would be this week.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
Yeah, I hit up the store yesterday. good to see we finally get the halloween costume nearly a week late. It's all good though.
Last night I played some online play.. how often do your teamates try to sabotage you? I was trying for co-op unlocks in the western stage with bombs and ended up with either a terrible player who intentional or not ended up doing everything but the objectives. Many times he jumped to his death or blew himself up. It looked like they were trying.. at times. I finally quit the online play and went solo again.

I haven't run into any players like that thankfully. I have met some pretty decent people online that normally wait for me or I wait for them. You will get the occasional guy who will just run ahead regardless of what is happening with you.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
all the kids with ADD are playing this game. i cant get 3 random people to cooperate either.
it's a lot easier if you play with people on your friends list. last night i played with two friends and it was fun as hell. we even ranked 4th in one of the levels!
ive got a question: is there a way to tell which prizes i have picked up and which ones others havent and vice versa?

I'm not sure about the prizes part but from what I understand everyone in the group gets the prizes at the end no matter who collected them.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
There's a growing clamor on the LittleBigPlanet forums about level 'moderation' — if by 'moderation' one means 'summary deletion.' Without warning. It doesn't have to involve penis innuendo creations or anything blatantly offensive, either. Just create a level that references anyone else's IP, and you're at risk of losing all your work on the spot. Considering some people are spending standard workdays on these things, keep that in mind before you plunge into your Metal Gear Solid tribute.
...
It's not a case of removing the offending content and republishing the level. One's it's taken down, it's gone for good. One user posted a strategy for keeping a copy of a level offline and republishing it in case it gets deleted. But Robbie says there are instances of unpublished levels getting "moderated" too. "I've never been so infuriated over a game," he says.
LBP Levels Getting 'Moderated' Out of Existence
so what's everyone's thoughts on this? seems like they just blew the wind off its sails. a lot of people are considering trading the game for something else now. others are hesitant to spend the time to create a level. i dont understand why the beta levels that also had 3rd party stuff was transferred over. seemed like they kept it to build hype since some of the most talked about levels were homages.
moderating non-published levels seems a little far fetched, but if this is true, it's just gonna cause more backlash and protest.
...and where are the week-1 shirts?!

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
I think they are being a tad too cautious. I'd like to know how many of the moderated levels are being deleted because others are reporting them and how many are being deleted due to MM or Sony patrolling. I'm guessing it's more of the first.

RE: Official Little Big Planet Thread
i started my level last weekend and im just about done. keep an eye out peeps! i had to clean it up a bit, aka censor myself, to avoid the banhammer.
i also played mana's level. it's pretty sweet using those new tools from the MGS pack. i was a little disappointed that i couldnt actually use the MGS stuff, but i might just have to buy it since the paintball gun was fun to use.
