I saw the movie yesterday and was very impressed.  Unlike Casino Royale, I thought this movie was paced better and did drag on.  The action sequences at the beginning of the movie were very fast-paced, almost a little to fast, because it was sometimes hard to see what was happening.  Anyone who enjoy James Bond movies will love this one, and anyone who loves a good action movie will get a kick out of it too.

Also, the theme song for the movie is pretty cool.  It's performed by Jack White and Alisha Keys.

Gargh, Jack White. The downfall of the theme song!!

Gft, are you a James Bond fan?

I enjoyed this film too but it wasn't very James Bondish. Casino Royale was a different Bond feel but still had that classic feel, this turned it into an action film...

The theme tune is okay but not the best, it has a decent little tune every now and again but it just turns nasty when they sing together.

This film was fantanstic,
It's about bond being bond.

No lame oneliners. (but still some oneliners)
No soppy Hollywood romance sub plot.
I feel this film was more true to what Bond is than any of the
brosnan bonds.

I give it a Smokey 9/10.

BOND's Back.!.!

I hear the movie clearly suffers from the writers strike. Which is a downer. At least the next one probably won't.

Bond's back? This is nothing like the original Connery Bond films. And I advise you read the Bond books, they are different from this film. Casino Royale was the Bond where he learns his place etc. (It was the original book after all). Quantum of Solace is a completely new idea, Flemming had no involvement. All they done was took the name of a short story and then made up a new story.

Connerys time and Craigs time are totally different. I wouldve hated this move to be just like classic Bond, because character evolve and change. So for what its worth this move was awesome didnt let me down at all.

Quantum of solace is different because it's so far the ONLY direct sequel.
It's an extention of Casino Royal.

Oh and i have read the books, and for my money, Craig's take on Bond is the
Bond from the books.
Ice cold, ruthless, get the job done in a no nonsence sort of way.

Bond was all about the unbelievable gadgets. True, Casino Royal was the first book; which was before the time of Q; and this is a direct sequel.

But if they turn Bond into a Bourne film I'd understand why the die-hard Bond fans might be disheartened. (not me; I love both Bond and Bourne films; though I'd like it better if they kept their distinctions.)

When Connery was first chosen by casting, Flemming thought no. Once they done a screen test Flemming said, that's your man. Flemming himself thought the original Bond is the right Bond.

And Rawr is right, QoS is a bit more like Bourne, I enjoyed QoS but I wanted more Bond. Devil May Care would make an excellent film, hell he evens manages to play an epic game of tennis with the bad guy to try and see what's going on before he actually starts to investigate further.

Nobody spoil it, but I heard the ending was a disappointment. I'll probably see this one in a week or so.

The movie felt a lot like an action film but there's a very simple reason for it. It was written during the Writer's Strike, personally I think they should have waited but meh.

As for chases, it pretty much covered all the bases: Plane Chase, heaps of Foot Chases, Car Chase in the opening minutes, a Boat Race.

Alright, I'll take that.

To be honest, I think now that the quantum organisation is known, they'll make another film regarding it.

Sigh.

Why not use source materiel.

I watched this last night and thought it was Awesome.

agreed. but i agree with a lot of the critics on several things, BUT this is a direct sequal so certain rules do apply.

Bond isnt going to be like he was in Casino Royale. His intentions, his motives, his emotions towards the mission are plain and simple. Vengences. Kill first ask questions later. So it is understandable that Bond really didnt talk much or displayed classic Bond charm. But you do see development. At the end you see a change. You see Bond understanding the influence he has on woman. =]

The movie felt more action packed, and thats what i wanted. Greene wasnt a hardass badguy like Goldfinger, Dr. No, HELL NOT EVEN Le Chiefe, so Bond kicking ass all over the place was fun to see. The direction was perfect for the kind of faced paced action.

Overall its like a B-, not perfect not bad. worth your money though.
