I'm thinking about picking this game up, even though I just bought LBP (which I love). All the reviews are very positive about the game, and I've read that the shear scope is breathtaking.

I was wondering if anyone on the site has actually played the game and could give me any idea of what I'm getting into? I ask because I never played the first one (Resistance Fall of Man 1@ Circuit City for $19.99), which I heard was also very good, but I'd like to get someone's opinion on the 2nd game.

I've picked it up, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. The figure the LE comes with is SWEET though! I'm just trying to decide to leave it in or take it out of its packaging (the figure is packaged in its own box, with a cardboard back and clear plastic covering like most action figures in stores)

Yeah, I want this game, but too many expenses right now. Plus I have too many other games to worry about this one. I'll probably wait for it to hit the bargain bins.

if you ever plan on selling it, keep it in it's case. my friend sold his big daddy figurine for $100.

OMFG..dear dear Zombie Jesus this game rocks. I just played through the first area, which is more of a tutorial, and saw my first creature/machine that was about the size of a 40 story building. It's taking me a little time to get use to the weapons (those who played Resistance 1 will probably know the controls already), but I'm really impressed with the graphics, scope of the surroundings, and the sound is simply amazing. If your not going to buy this game, then go out and rent it...then you'll want to buy it

Have you even played Gears 2? If you haven't, then you're just making uninformed comparisons. If you've played through them both, then fair enough. Oh, and that would be "GeoW". Just saying.

The only FPS game I'm good at i TimeSplitters, ever other FPS game I suck at, I played Resistance 1 demo and a died bunch, lol.

We really shouldn't compare Gears of Wars 2 and Resistance 2, or say one is better than the other. If you own a Xbox 360 and love FPS then you'll be buying Gears. If you own a PS3 and love FPS then you'll buy Resistance 2...that's just how it is.

Except for the whole "Gears isn't a First-Person Shooter" thing

I'm really lovin' Gears 2 at the moment, and I'll pick up Resistance 2 when I get my PS3.

I played Resistance 2 online today with 29 other people and everything was running very very smooth. I wanted to get into a 60 person match and try it out, but all were full. Resistance 2 ROCKS...

Quick comment...I've noticed the main characters from Gears of War 1 & 2 look a lot like Unreal Tournament people, I wonder if this was accidental or just done on purpose.

Both made by Epic Games. So yeah, the characters share a similar look.
