Rice Paper: The Vampire Chronicles Return

The good news: After taking a four-year break from the series due to religious reasons, author Ann Rice will be writing one more book in her Vampire Chronicles series.

The potentially bad news: the book will have a definite Christian framework and a focus on the theme of redemption to reflect the born again beliefs she adopted four years ago.

"I don't see it as a violation of my promise,” she explained in a recent interview, “because I won't be writing about vampires in the same way."

Oh great.

The proverbial final nail in the vampire chronicle coffin will again star hottie bloodsucker Lestat and an organization known as the Talamaska that is responsible for investigating the supernatural. But now, rather than wrestling the jugulars and panties of hot chick vampires, Lestat will be wrestling with the existence of God throughout the story.

But don’t worry, you won’t have to wade through this too soon, as she has one more Jesus book to write before she goes back to her devilish ways.

I smell something bad coming, and it's not a rotting corpse.  I can appreciate that Rice has found religion, but don't taint the themes of your past works by trying to make them follow a more Christian path...

RE: Rice Paper: The Vampire Chronicles Return

It sounds interesting. But maybe I shouldn't start reading the series only to have crappy book near the end...
