Rumor: New Wii SKU by Christmas
According to an anonymous tipster through Codename Revolution we'll be getting a new Wii SKU some time this holiday season. This new SKU/bundle should be sent to retailers soon. The UPC of the item has also been leaked to be "045496880088". The signifigance of this is that the UPC code is currently registered to Nintendo of America.
For the time being, this new SKU is being called "New Pack". Leading me to believe that we're not to expect any signifigant changes to the hardware itself, and the perhaps there will just be a different game packed with the system besides WiiSports. However, WiiSports isn't widely available without the console outside of Japan. So perhaps there will be another game added on to the sports compilation.
If Nintendo continues in its casual nature then perhaps the new pack in would be Link's Crossbow Training + zapper, or *shudder* WiiPlay. If they want to take a step in the right direction (ie. back towards the hardcore) they'll bundle in Smash Bros. and/or Super Mario Galaxy. And still, there's always the chance of a new color being introduced. More than likely black.

Seems to disapointing and insignifigant to warrant a new SKU/UPC code.
Not to mention that when Nintendo started putting in the new wrist straps nothing was changed. The condoms are pretty much the same thing. Albeit, more ridiculous looking.

I think that they would just release an HDD for the Wii rather than make a whole new SKU (if this new one supposedly has more memory). Even packing it with another game wouldn't warrant a new SKU would it?

- Time Machine
Ooo, I'd seriously contemplate buying a second Wii if so.
PSN ID: Drunkedid
PS3 games: Guitar Hero (III, Aerosmith, World Tour), GTA4, MGS4, CoD4, and soon LBP!
Mario Kart Wii: 3995-7026-8296
PM me if you add anything or include it in the message!

Pssh, Nintendo wont give us increased capacity, we all know that. DVD play back is an possibility but I doubt it. Now this is Nintendo we are talking about, inventor of weird things (fat italian plumber saves pink princess from giant dinosaur thingy) so we could be in for a time machine

-considers sarcasm tags just for FELX-
*Machine
I don't think they will increase the memory yet, they dont really get into listening to their consumers at the moment...
Besides, they including it into the original console and will most likely include it in this, I dont really see a external HDD happening as of yet.

a lot of being are saying that, but really imo opinion ppl are asking for too much. its only a videogame console, and they expect it to do everyone.

RE: Rumor: New Wii SKU by Christmas
Well to think about it, the amount of people that actually want what we always talk about (headsets, harddrives, etc.) is probably just a small amount of Wii owners, so maybe Nintendo just doesn't see a big enough profit out of making them

RE: Rumor: New Wii SKU by Christmas
Yeah but the majority of people that are members of IGN etc. are also ones that play alot of online games, so that poll is sorta bias. dont get me wrong though I would kill for headsets also, but sadly i just dont see it happening anytime soon
