In a January interview with IGN, Tatsuya Kando, director for The World Ends With You, discussed how well received the DS title was, specific details about it that made it unique, and how we may possibly see a new entry on the DS, or even the Wii; hopefully, in the near future.

In response to IGN's question of how WEWY would work on the Wii, Kando said “Since The World Ends With You was specifically created for the DS, it would probably take on a very different form if it entered the console scene. Even though the Wii and DS seem similar, the stylus and Wii-remote are completely different, so naturally some alterations would become necessary to adjust the game for the Wii. Of course, the dual-screen element would have to be interpreted differently as well, but the most important thing would be to retain the essence of what makes The World Ends With You what it is. The exhilarating high-speed action is a vital part of the game, so we would probably be careful to preserve that aspect when adjusting it for a new console.”

I sure hope our readers are as excited as we are to hear this piece of news! However, like all rumors, this is open for speculation as to how much it will change for the better and the worse.

Anyone who never played the original is just neglecting their poor DS, and should feel terrible. Because this is probably the best DS game yet.

I've been playing through it from the beginning, myself. I'm having a heck of a time, I still have to get use to the controls.
