you cant play VC games from the SD card. So i guess it makes sence for a external memory source i dont know if a HD would be good just more flash memory. I think its retarded that you cant play them right from your SD card too, because the time it takes to save it or reinstall to your console you might as well DL it again if your saving space

Hmm, so no SD cards. Never really used a SD card for my Wii. That and I don't download overpriced VC games. As for the hdd how do you know it would play games off it. I mean it could be pretty much partitioned wierd. To read like a sd card. Which if it's a hdd I figure there will be programs to partition you're own later on. I mean it happened on the ps2.

Better off just waiting, buy a hdd from like newegg. Instead of buying Nintendo labeled stuff. I mean you pay for the name. The Nintendo SD cards are just sandisk with a big Nintendo label.

No more than 47-48 (I forget the exact amount, but there were something like 47 different channels, including the Disc channel and all the channels already available, if you count up all the slots). That is, unless Nintendo eventually releases a system update that adds more slots.

They will always be adding new stuff XD.

I think the whole Channel's thing is what they plan to use to keep people interested in the Wii and not only the games. Having different channels, will keep people interested and there are so many possibilities....

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Nintendo has responded and said that this was pure rumor and speculation. Another 3rd party may come out with something but don't for anything from Nintendo any time soon.

Nintendo, lovers of innovation and customer appreciation (sinister smile), have come out and confirmed that the Wii will not have an external hard drive for those who wanted such a convenience. Check it out:

Nintendo has dismissed reports that it's going to release an external hard disk drive for the Wii so that people can transfer some of their stuff off the machine's internal flash drive, but it has confirmed that the DS is about to get a voice communication headset.

Japanese magazine Gamelabo claimed that Nintendo Japan executives had met recently to discuss the hard disk drive, but Nintendo UK told our sister site GamesIndustry.biz that that's "pure rumour and speculation".

External storage is handy for Wii owners who like to buy games via Virtual Console, as the 512MB internal drive can quickly fill up. At the moment, users can invest in an SD flash-card to help store some of their software and save-game files away from the main system.

Is it really so hard to maybe put out a little something for your loyal customers? Seriously, what the hell? It's not like the company would sell it for free.

yeah it sounds like a great idea but it looks like it won't happen! maybe buy the time they have the next console out hard drive will be cheeper! it they did come out with one I'd get it! for sure!
