Cave Story (洞窟物語, Dōkutsu Monogatari) is a freeware game that was released for the PC in 2004. The game is an action adventure in a similar vein to the classic franchises of Metroid and Castlevania. It was created by Daisuke Amaya, who goes by the name 'Pixel' it was originally released in Japanese and Aeon Genesis fan translated it to English.

Rumours are starting to appear on the GoNintendo board that this cult classic 2d freeware game may be getting a port to WiiWare. At the moment there isn't much to say however but be sure to check back later to see if we have any advances on this story!
