Some Fable II Players Report 'Freezing' Issues

And it was all going so well!

Several users - both in our tips@kotaku.com inbox and the official Lionhead Forums - say that Fable II has been 'freezing' or locking up at various stages.

"as soon as I got into my adult stage in the gypsy camp it froze," said Lionhead Forum member 'Sansight', "Strange freeze too, loud buzzing noise for about a second, then the screen gets all sorts of weird artifacts."

There has been some speculation that the recent co-op patch may be the cause of the issues.

These are still early reports, though, and it is unclear if there is actually a fault with the game or if this is just a few unlucky gamers with a hardware problem. Please let us know in comments if you have been affected.

Lionhead has been contacted for comment.

Haven't had a chance to pop it in--too much work, then I've been bed ridden the past few days with a horrible sinus infection... but I HAVE seen the LH Community forums and MAN have they scared the crap out of me, with one game ending bug after another. Just look for yourselves:

RE: Some Fable II Players Report 'Freezing' Issues

So I was on the Lionhead forums and read some stuff about some discs potentially being faulty. People were saying they saw strange white-ish residue on the inside of their discs--what looked to be excess glue from joining the layers. So of course I examined my still un-played copy of Fable II. The center of the disc looks slightly off--instead of a perfect circle, there are a couple of spots that look warped, and it looks like there could be some excess glue, as the "clear" part of the center looks... just slightly OFF center.

Okay, fine, maybe I'm just hyper paranoid. I compared it to other 360 games I have that I know work perfectly fine, and none of them look like this... uh-oh?

Am I being hyper paranoid? Is it possible for those slight irregularities to make a difference, be it in corrupted data or throwing off the weight of the disc while it spins? I'm still too scared to play the game. Damn those forums...

While I'm at it, with the DLC and website content, is that limited to just your first hero, or can ALL of your heroes access the chest with the LE armor and website goodies? I only ask because, if they can ALL access it, I'd be less scared about starting the game because I'd know that if I got that bonus content with one hero, then he glitched to death, I could start another and still have access to the content...
