A little rumor started when SEGA decided to trademark "Sonic Unleashed" and then later released some mysterious screenshots. Well big news has just arrived that confirms Sonic Unleashed is in fact a real game and will be released by SEGA this November! As of now we have multiple screenshots and a video that shows off some pretty graphics and high speed gameplay. It appears that this time around SEGA are making the wise choice and implementing a lot of 2D gameplay, but still keeping the 3D elements. The playable character selection will be quite limited; Knuckles, Tails and Sonic. But now Sonic has the crazy ability to change into a Wolf!

It isn't crystal clear what platforms this game is intended for, but one of the leaked images was meant to be the cover for Official Nintendo Magazine. Does this confirm that we will see a Wii version of Sonic Unleased? Is anyone excited for this game? Will SEGA finally break the mold and make an outstanding Sonic game? Only time will tell...

it doesn't even look like a wolf (It is seen in one of the images)...it looks more of a 'Sonic hasn't had a shave but hey lets cash in and call him a wolf'

Not a fan of Sonic or SEGA at all, but this game looks awesome! Hope it is for Wii, I'll buy it if it remains good.

Actually, from the trailer it seems like Sonic is in a 3D environment but that they've actually brought Sonic closer to his 2D roots than he's been in years (for consoles at least). I'm willing to keep an open mind considering Secret Rings was above average.

i thought secret rings was a pretty awsome game and this comes ot wii i will defenitly be gettign a copy on release day

I wasn't a fan of the Secret Rings but this game is looking good. Gameplay will be important for me as I hated having to waggle my Wiimote up every time to make him jump in the last game. I'd honesty rather push a button for that. So far so good though. Let's hope they don't screw it up!

Been waiting for a decent Sonic title for a long time...hope this is it. Would like to renew my interest in the series that got me into gaming in the first place.

Well the gameplay seems to be a mix of the 2d sonic games and Secret Rings. I'm going to keep an open mind.

maybe he surpasses super sonic and goes to super sonic 2 where he loses his eyebrows and grows really long hair.

Super saiyan tiers are odd. Super Sayain..Super Saiyan 2...super saiyan 2.5....etc.

Besides, he would lose eyebrows at super due to him not having any in first place.
