Spore Confirmed for Wii
It finally happened. Next to Okami, Spore was one of those games people felt would be a perfect fit for Wii and Will Wright seems to feel the same way. In an interview with Guardian Unlimited Wright came right out and said "we're doing Spore on the Wii." As simple as that. No teasing, nothing to really lead up to it, and nothing cryptic so that it would take a team of people to decipher it.
Wright seems to have a soft spot for Wii, calling it the only system that is truly next-gen. No specifics on how the game will be played on Wii or what kinds of things will be changed, removed, or added.

hmm... what is this spore game (scratches head) i kind of skipped a lot of PS2 titles if thats where its coming from.
I did appreciate the little part about wii being the only true next gen though =)

Spore is a title originally slated for PC only, then rumored to be on Wii and DS, now confirmed for Wii, DS and PC. Basically, you create living beings, tell them how to evolve, what skin to have, how many limbs, how smart, fast, strong they are. you continue to evolve them until they can travel through the universe and find other planets full of creatures other people have made (this would be done by internet for the PC). it's like the old SimEarth game, but you get to create your own creature instead of picking a pre-existing creature and telling it to evolve. it looks absolutely amazing and will have replay value like nothing before

holy crap, thats right, i saw an interview on the daily show with the creator of the sims about that. holy crap! that will be awesome!!! this is fantastic news, should be a great seller for the wii.
is there a release date for this yet?
Edit: i found an interview saying that a release date around April 1st 2008 is expected.
