Tecmo is relaesing a sequel to their hit Wii golf title Super Swing Golf. The game will feature more courses and costumes from .Ninja Gaiden characters. The game will also feature a tour mode for you to build up your character and it will introduce a new special move known as spike shots. No release has been made for NA.

I don't see how they are going to change this that much. I have played the online version and I own the first one for the Wii and I can tell you that the only difference is one course and some items. All the characters are there so unless they add something like Online Play (don't see that happening) then I don't think it would be worth it.

It's supposed to release this winter in Japan it's possible online could happen.

Yeah but even with online they'd have to compete with the actual game that is and has been online for a very long time now. I'll wait and see more about it.

I may rent the first one soon. I've wanted to try it for some time now. Is there anyone out there who's play both Super Swing Golf and Tiger Woods on Wii? And if you have, which is better?

Super Swing is better imo though I'm a long time fan of TW and love it more normally. They really screwed up the controls in the Wii version of TW though. I was waiting for it for so long too and was really disappointed.

I bought the first SWG for the Wii, and really liked it at first. The AI was either super easy or super hard and that just kind of ruined it for me.

Yeah, one second they miss a 3 foot put and then they chip it in from 150 yards away on the next hole.  Playing it with your friend is much better.

1UP: What all-new elements do you plan to introduce to this new chapter of SSG?

Kohei Shibata: We're working hard to beef up the party mode features. Before, it was only the Balloon Pop game, but this time there will be other party mode games like Golf Dart, Longest Drive, Nearest to Pin, and more. And a tour mode will be added to enhance the single-player experience; [you play it] by moving characters on the map. Every time you win a tournament, a new route will open up. This mode will motivate the player to keep on playing the tournament. For example, if you can reach an item box on the map, you'll be able to pick up new costumes, clubs, and other items.
There is no wrong way to play the tour mode. You can try to get to the end as quickly as possible, take detours to play in challenging tournaments, pick up all the items along the way, choose your own route, or find hidden routes. There are a total of eight new maps of varying difficulty levels with different starting points and goals. Having all these options allows gamers of every level -- from beginners to advanced players -- to enjoy this mode.

1UP: Do you plan -- or has Nintendo even shared the programming tools necessary -- to include online play?

Kohei Shibata:There will be no online play for this game. We're focusing on the new party mode and tour mode to enhance the play experience.

The interview goes on to talk about that there won't be any Mii implemented in the game, how the controls have been improved and what's being done to make this version stand out.

Who bought the first one? Was it good?

Eh, the best golf game on the wii sadly is still Wii Golf.  Niether Tiger nor super swing did much in terms of getting good controls. Otherwise the games are ok. Just my opinions.

Hmm. I think I will pass on this and just hope Nintendo give us Mario golf sometime in future.

I still don't see enough to warrant another purchase. It's basically the first one plus one new course, 2 new moves, and some new costumes... I mean is that really worth the purchase of another game? This could/should have been an addon to the first game via download/wiiware. Would make much more sense in my opinion.

if it had online, I'd get it. but since it doesn't, meh, I have the first one for the Wii, I'm happy with that.

How's the online version (PC, right?) mana?

You're right, but I guess it's really for the people who passed it up the first time around. Hopefully season 3 will bring a lot more variety and online.

Yeah, I enjoyed playing the PC version but then all the fun went away when people started using formulas to get the exact aiming spot. The formula + calculator + ruler = a lot of hole in ones. I mean were talking 90% of the time they try it. That's just not fun anymore.

Eww... that just ruined the game, eh?

Well, maybe the fun will return if they make Season 3 for the Wii online?
