RE: The Conduit

What's with all the 30 second videos over this game? Why didn't IGN just tape the entire E3 demo and upload it?

RE: The Conduit

We kind of got an extended view of the demo from the livewire thing, but maybe HVS wants to releasing little by little in order to keep us wanting more.

RE: The Conduit

This game is harboring a lot of attention because it sounds like its got the first person controls down and the graphics are better than the majority of Wii games thus far, but I'm having a difficult time getting too excited for it because beyond those features it still looks like a very generic shooter in comparison to other offerings in the genre.

RE: The Conduit

Compared to what now? The FPS genre is a very overdone genre. There's not much that can be done to it. Some times gems pop up (Bioshock) that reinvent the genre but for the most part many FPS are the same.

RE: The Conduit

It's true, and so far this game isn't really doing much to set itself apart from the FPS genre. But I don't expect it too.

RE: The Conduit

The reason why people are excited is because it's for Wii. If it was for 360 then it would just be another FPS, because there's so many to choose from. But it's different for Wii owners because there isn't exactly much choice in terms of, high quality, first-person shooters. Plus it's new a I.P, exclusively for the Wii; so that helps build hype. It's also the first FPS (that we know of) to take advantage of Wii Speak.

Well some people might just be happy with The Conduit, despite the fact it looks generic. Personally, the game doesn't do much for me, but that's probably because the 360 takes care of my FPS needs. If I didn't own a 360, I would probably show some interest.

I never said anything about people not liking it. All I said was that it was a little generic. CoD3 was generic for WWII (I fecking loved that game for no apparent reason so yeah).

RE: The Conduit

I'm just not usually an FPS genre person. It's such a tired genre. But I'll probably pick up the Conduit.

Still pretty cool. HVS is really going all out with controls and graphics here. All I hope is that the game has a decent story and some good multiplayer.

RE: The Conduit

Gamespot had some time with the game at PAX, click here to see their impressions. High Voltage plan on using the Motion Plus peripherial with The Conduit, so It will be interesting to see how that goes...

"Using the Wii Remote and specific weapons, you can shoot around corners by twisting the remote to get people that are hiding out of sight and some weapons can be guided using the cursor like a missile. High Voltage does plan to support Wii Motion Plus add-on so we will have to see later how that will work."

The game is sounds like it's coming along well, that March release date must mean they finally have a publisher.

I dunno. Every other interview or anything I've read has said that they aren't planning on using Wii MotionPlus. But hey, it could work if implemented properly.

So the game is going to have 10 hrs of main quest if you run through it? Seems to be pretty standard length for a good FPS.

RE: The Conduit

Expect a publisher announcement next month for The Conduit, and that LAN play, by way of system link, is, indeed, being worked on.

Thanks, GoNintendo.

The more I hear about this game, the more I want it. I want LAN play... A lot.

RE: The Conduit

10 hrs? Not bad I suppose. There'd better be difficulty levels. But there almost always is in FPS games anyway, so I'm not concerned.
