RE: The Conduit

Dang, this sounds elaborate.

I wonder what the Drudge use to communicate with one another? The Drudge Report? XD

As if one 9/11 wasn't bad enough, it had to get worse by assassinating a candidate.

I saw some of the videos, and while I've never been one of those "graphics are important" people, I have to say the details are amazing.

RE: The Conduit

Apparently there is no DLC planned for The Conduit, but it may be available in the sequel.

FTA Wrote:
Rob Nicholls from High Voltage Software, in an audio interview with Nintendo Radio, revealed that there are no plans to make DLC available in The Conduit. It was explained that the decision was partially due to the fact that the Wii is very limited from a storage standpoint. However, Nicholls also added that although DLC will be absent from the first game, High Voltage would consider it for the sequel (most likely if Nintendo created a storage solution at that point.)

Here are some more important points from the interview, some of which we’ve heard about before:

- The Conduit’s control scheme partially based on Metroid, Medal of Honor
- Gimmicky Wii waggle is limited because they didn’t want to disrupt the pacing of the game - Other ideas concerning waggle are a “little more out there,” might be considered for the sequel
- Trying to get a lot of “Oh my God” moments in the game, things you wouldn’t expect
- If you want, you can pay attention to the story or just ignore it
- Definitely looking into WiiSpeak and MotionPlus - Will only incorporate them they aren’t afterthoughts
- If the developers have to use friend codes (and they admit they will probably have to), they will make it as streamlined and fast as possible. Still looking at every possible option.
- 3 types of weapons: Alien weapons, human weapons, weapons you get from Trust
- Once again, can’t do splitscreen with the graphics-level (Developers weren’t trying to tick off gamers. Rendering has to be displayed with different angles two times.) Will look into it in the future. Looking into some types of co-op play. Possibly come up with a seperate co-op mode (not the story mode)
- Have not started a second Conduit. Sequel a part of negotiations with publisher.

Source.

Already talking about a sequel? Why not get the first game out, HV? It's nice that you can skip the story, it's there if you want something to do. I like it. Although I hope that if you do go through it, you get something special. I like special. Friend codes, although I'm not surprised that they're there. I'll still play against you people. :u

RE: The Conduit

Yea, normally developers use sales to determine if a game deserves a sequel, what ever happened to that? Otherwise i'm interested in what the trust weapons will be like.

Whether or not a sequel gets produced lies in the hands of the publisher. If a developer really wants to make a sequel to a game, but the original didn't sell well enough for the publisher to OK the project then they either need to scrap the project or try and find a different publisher if possible.

“If there is any possible way for us to get around this [friend code] system, we will. Better yet, it was also added that “A system similar to MoH2’s would be ideal.” - High Voltage

Looks like they're trying their best to avoid friend codes.

If they can't, I don't mind too much.

Yeah. High Voltage has done a lot to please the fans. If they can't accomplish one thing then I won't fault them too much.

RE: The Conduit

They have done a lot to please fans, and the game should be fun. My main beef is that it looks like Generic FPS 5. Otherwise I'm very happy how the game is going thus far.

RE: The Conduit

It may be Generic FPS #5003 overall, but it's only Generic Wii FPS #6 or something. The console has been in need of a really good FPS. The 360 has Halo, PS3 has Resistance.

RE: The Conduit

I don't know if this will have what it takes to clash with the likes of Halo 3 and Resistance. But it's a start.

Most likely not. But they have to start somewhere.

Already looking to improve on the title, kind of what happened with lostwinds. I wish they would announce their publisher already.

RE: The Conduit

I don't think so.

There's the option for LAN play on the Wii, which has never been explored before. Even by Nintendo.

So 4 people can play ONLINE from the same Wii? That would be amazing.
