The Rooster Reviews: Spiderman 3 (Wii)
I don't know why everyone hasn't bought this game yet. Who wouldn't want to use the Wii Remote to swing through New York and battle crime as your friendly neighborhood Spider-man? Is it because you're worried about the control scheme? Well I'm here and ready to tell you that this game absolutely rocks!

Story
You would think that this game, like the first two before it, completely follows the movie. You'd be wrong. There are ten different storylines with 11 Different supervillians for you to wail on. Surprisingly, some of these stories are very deep and show some thought into their creation. One of the newest additions are the four gangs. They slowly take over New York and it shows. Trash appears on the street, the skies darken and the people start to complain. But you can doing something about it detailed below.
This is also a really long game, with 15-20 hours just to plow through the main story, without doing any sidequest or battling the gangs.

Graphics
What can I say about the graphics in this game? Spider-Man himself looks good. Better then he ever did on the Gamecube. The same can be said for the citizens of New York. Though they still are randomly generated and thus you can see about five of the same person on any street.
But New York itself is looking good. Excellent lighting effects are put to good use in a New York 2.5 times as large as the one in Spiderman 2. And as you swing through the city, there is no framerate drop. It all streams on the fly, no easy task by the way. The framerate does drop however when the screen gets filled with enemies but you have to have super vision to notice it.

Gameplay
This is always the biggest area of a Wii Review. Just how does the funky Wii Remote work with Spider-Man 3? Excellent.
To swing, simply hold either the Z button on the Nunchuk or the B button on the Wii Remote and thrust the controller forward. Spider-Man immediately reacts and shoots a web line into the air, it goes taut, and he swings on it. The whole thing looks very good and Spiderman's acrobatics have been taken up a notch in this game. Sure it takes a bit of getting used to but once you do its very enjoyable.
Combat is handled by the Wii Remote. You shake the Wii Remote, just like in Zelda, to make Spider-Man punch. Unlike Zelda, there is no noticable lag between your swing and Spiderman attacking. To use Spidey's web, you either tap B for Impact Webbing to slow your opponent down or hold it to attach a Web line to them. You can then do a variety of things, twirl them around, throw them into the air, bash them into the ground. You name it Spider-Man can probably do it. Which is interesting because there are many new power ups and attack moves you can buy from the Hero Store.
Now to the really fun part: The Black Suit. Unlike the other versions of the game, you receive the black suit about an hour into the game and from then on can switch to it on the fly. The trouble is that the more you use the black suit, the more your rage meter fills up. Once it does you'd better take the suit off or else you'll be knocked unconsious and could miss some potential city events. Another thing about it is that you'll see the difference in Spiderman's attitude. Take this for an example. You walk up to an informant to start a crime patrol. If you're in Red Suit, Spiderman says something sarcastic. If you're in black suit however, he'll threaten their life. It's very well implemented into the game. The citizens notice, the villians notice and they all make comments. Spiderman also talks so much more brutal to the enemies in the black suit. The only big problem I see is that you eventually reach a point where the Black suit is actually weaker than your red suit, basically making it useless. But it still looks pretty cool.
Overall Scores:
Story: 10/10 Excellent Story with much more offered than the movie.
Graphics: 8.7/10 Character models are on the Xbox level, traffic and city aren't.
Gameplay: 10/10 Exactly how Spiderman on the Wii should play. Reactive controls and stimulating Web swinging will have you playing this game for a long time afterward.
Controls: 9.8/10 The Perfect way for the Wii Remote to be used in a Spider-Man game. One Complaint about Jumping and Web shooting attached to the same buttons as Swinging.
Sound: 7/10 Uh...the music isn't bad but it isn't all that good either. But the sounds of the fighting and cops sound just like you'd expect.
Replay: 10/10 A fully city to fight four gangs in? Web swinging around the huge city? Collecting tokens and meteorite fragments? You bet there's replay!
Final Score: 9.6/10

Woah, see it's funny. You gave it an incredible score while IGN gave it a 5.1. >.<
I'm guessing that means you liked it which means I'll probably end up getting it if it's fun.

Great Review, but didn't this game just come out?
I must say though that i am confused about the graphics...
IGN said that they are horible, you say great, some other people will say great or bad....I just don't see how they can be both....

IGN is biased towards games with Good graphics. They didn't give this game a fair score.

Yeah it just came out. I have no life. I had no homework this weekend so I though WTH?
The graphics are pretty mixed as I mentioned about good character models and bad city and traffic.

No there not. I mean I see why you think that, but there just hard on the visual because most of the games are at gamecube standards. And they know that it can be so much more so there going to be tough on them. That's a good thing.
Plus they said it was bad in more then just graphics.
