Unfortunately I planned to post a couple of these yesterday but due to my own absent minded-ness it's been pushed to today. On the plus side however it's given me the chance to push these three Wii rumors together into one post.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles May Not be a Spinoff From the Main RE Series.
According to the Japanese site Quiter Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, which will be exclusive to Wii and release alongside Resident Evil 5, the Wii Resident Evil game will stay as part of the main series' storyline and chronology falling in between Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4. The game is also expected to follow the same gameplay mechanic that was introduced in Resident Evil 4.

A Mysterious Nintendo Franchise Will be Reborn.
According to the Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream a famous Nintendo series will get a second chance at life. All we know is that it's a Nintendo franchise but not whether it will be appear on the Wii or DS or both. This seems a lot like what happened to the Metroid franchise when Metroid Prime was brought out for the GameCube.

New New Wii Wrist Straps.
A reader at GoNintendo has sent them a picture of some wrist straps they recieved from Nintendo. After asking for 4 straps they recieved straps from Nintendo with rounded plastic ends. Kind of strange and unexpected, but then again I don't really think that a minor wrist strap change warrants some sort of announcement or press release. What are your thoughts on the "new" strap?

maybe they just have more than one factory or whatever making straps and the designs got mixed up from one to the other. likely just a slight mistake.

I asked for 4 replacement straps, and they sent me 8.

I know. I was gonna post it yesterday but had some other stuff to do.

I heard of that kind of stuff happening but I only got 4 straps with my shipment.

I got two and they look like that but its not plastic just thicker material than the old ones..

Hmm, good news on the RE front if true. I didn't want them turning RE into a House of the Dead-type shooter. An exclusive RE4-style game would be sweet.

On the retro series reborn, this is obvious. They've hinted many months ago at a new Kid Icarus, and PunchOut is a very obvious option after Wii Boxing.

Is it just me or do the rounded straps look a little more yellow?

If you stare at them for a couple of seconds it does appear yellow.

They look brown on my computer.

My computers color keeps changing...wait ok it stopped...nooo..ok Degauzing time!

Anyways on topic, the straps do look kinda yellow, plus the news about RE is awesome, I was kinda hoping they'd do this.

It looks brownish yellow on mine. Kinda like an older brown or something. I just think it's the material though. Looks like it may be a bit thinner on the end piece and we're probably looking at the semi-transparent part that makes it look like that. I like the original end design better if it is indeed a new design.
