Epic Vice President Mark Rein has repeatedly mentioned that his company had no intentions of bringing their Unreal Engine 3 to Wii; used in many popular games including Gears of War and Bioshock. In an interview with Kikizo, Rein said that an unnamed developer is working on getting Epic's engine working on Wii.

The Unreal Engines are primarily used in first person shooters but has been used in 3rd person games and MMORPGs. The engine supports developers in creating advanced visuals and in-game physics. Epic's Unreal Engine 2 has already been used on Wii in Red Steel and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. If the porting of the engine is successful there would be enormous potential in the quality of Wii games and we'll look back at launch titles like Red Steel and laugh (if you aren't already).

Kindrik, I think Lee deserves some credit for bringing it to your attention.

The credit is there for finding it first, but I usually put the credit in the post if it's where I saw the story first. I hadn't even seen the thread. I found this through my newsfeeds.

An MMORPG for Wii would be awesome, I hope they're thinking about one as they rework the engine.

I'm 95% sure it's going to be for an FPS considering the engine's history. And with friend codes and Nintendo's attitude towards open online gaming I wouldn't get too hopeful for a MMORPG on Wii. We'll be seeing a Wii headset before we hear about a MMORPG.

If Red Steel 2 flops I'd be incredibly surprised if Ubisoft decided to waste their time on another sequel to it. I would've preferred if Ubisoft had taken the RS2 team and instead tried making a Splinter Cell port.

Only if Red Steel is greatly improved upon. Metroid and Medal of Honor have set the bar in terms of shooter controls. Red Steel 2 should be just as good if not better. Otherwise there would be no hope left for the series.

i would like to see if they continue w/ the same characters and continue on the story or completely chage every thing.... i wonder

The Red Steel story had potential but they ruined it. Especially with an incredibly anti-climactic ending. They need to get better writers working on this game as well as better voice actors. The engrish in the game made me want to rip my ears out.

lmao the swords need to be trick-a-ble (moded) like i can choose weight , size,type,grip, give ect. *hint**hint**ninty*
and the guns were AWESOME they gave good feedback when u moved ur remote.
in conclusion nintendo..plz improve sword customization, story and voice actors
