Wii Price Cut?
With the upcoming Xbox-360 price cut in North America on September fifth, the 360 has officially become the least expensive current-gen console on the market. This makes it more apparent that you're overpaying for the Wii due to old hardware.
So do you think it would be in Nintendo's best interest to make a price cut by this holiday season? Or am I just delusional in thinking Nintendo would do such a thing?

The second one.
Unless Wii sales start slow down, Nintendo won't bother with a price-cut.

*senses new console unveiling from Microsoft*
and I agree with Snake on this one, they won't price drop until the Wiis start sitting on the shelves, and it doesn't look like that'll happen for a while. Especially with the holiday season approaching.
Mad money to be made there.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
Nintendo won't drop the price yet, they know consumers will still flock to them and their popular products. 360 sales will increase though.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
Maybe now I might finally buy a 360.
No way will Nintendo have a price cut. Nintendo could have a price increase and people would still buy like mad.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
The Wii is starting to become less and less popular. People are no longer calling and asking for them, but for Wii Fit. When a store has a new shipment of Wii's in, it's not unlikely to see some of them left over for people to buy the next day.
I don't see you'll see a Wii price cut, because Nintendo still thinks that they'll wake up everyday to a rainbow and things will always be good.

I guess I don't understand what you were getting at with your comment, unless you thought mine was some sort of Wii slam and you felt it necessary to defend the console for some reason.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
I'm guessing he's just statiing that it is slowing down, but it's still way ahead of the competition in regards to console sales.
New shipment comes one day, before they where only available for a few hours, then a little more, then the whole day, now its available for 2 days. Its still sold-out for a week until the next shipment.
I'm guessing once there's 2 Wiis still on the shelves when the next shipment comes, then the Wii's sales have officially slowed considerably.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
Pretty much what Rawr said. Wii's still sell out, they just take a little longer to do so now, lol. And so Nintendo won't cut the price just yet. Unless they see 360 making a heavy dent in their Wii sales.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
i dont think price was ever a factor for people who bought or are considering a wii. i'd be really surprised if they do announce a price drop this year though.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
It's still the cheapest console out there, and they still sell like hotcakes. That $250 price tag isn't going anywhere.

RE: Wii Price Cut?
Nintendo know their customers will pay it. Hell, it's $400AU over here, yet it's still the best selling console (the others being slightly more).
