Wii price drop in Canada

But, while a relatively small step (especially when you consider availability), Nintendo has heard the cries of the people, and stepped up to the plate to deliver their newest console at $269, a 20 dollar drop from its former price of $289. The games aren't any cheaper, but at least if Wii want to play, it won't cost so much, eh?
Nice to see the price drop, however it perplexes me why the price isn't the same as $249.99 price point in the US, especially when Sony just announced that the PS3 hardware would cost the same in Canada as in the United States. It find it equally perplexing why software continues to remain much more costly. Not to mention the extra tax we have to pay on things up here.

Just because the actual currency is the same, there's still a lot of other factors.
Software isn't First Party on the PS3, those publishers can set it wherever they want. Look for ninty drops though.

I'm still pissed at the fact that the US is getting the better prices even though the CAN$ just rose another 2 cents higher then it...
My books are costing 20$ more here in Canada then in the US with its weaker dollar...
