The Wii has effectively become Nintendo's third best-selling home console as it has reached 32.94 million consoles worldwide to pass the Nintendo 64's mark of 32.93 million over its lifespan. The Wii's sales have accumulated over just 22 months. Here is a look at how Nintendo's consoles stack up:

NES - 61,790,000
Super NES - 49,080,000
Wii - 32,940,000
Nintendo 64 - 32,930,000
GameCube - 21,590,000

Note, however, that the Wii's 14.48 million in North America has a ways to go to catch up to the N64's 20.63 million in NA. It has well-outsold the N64 in the other territories though.

Similarly, the Nintendo DS has just passed the Game Boy Advance to become the second-best selling handheld of all time:

Again, the DS's 25.87 million units sold in North America lags well behind the GBA's 41.47 million in NA, while it has crushed GBA sales in other territories.

I always thought that the GameCube did much worse than the original Xbox. That was the impression I kept getting from people.

I highly doubt anyone will beat out the NES. Unless there is only one console avaliable...

The NES is 6th...both playstations even out sold it. The 3rd one didn't though.

I think the DS will eventually surpass the GBA epecially with the DSi hitting.

The PS2 is a glorious system though. However, SNES and NES are both still better <3!!

you should really half the number of ps2 sales, due to the fact that almost everyone broke down after the warrenty had expired and people just simply paid for another

Ha! Except that no one has really had to buy another 360 since they are replaced by Microsoft for free so long as they're under warranty. I never really heard of a lot of PS2s needing to be replaced though.

Then a lot of these numbers should change drastically by that logic. Although I still have a Game Boy... and a Game Boy Pocket... and a Game Boy Colour, etc.
