alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

Classic Controller
For the Nintendo Wii

This is a special sort of review I call it an accessory review. Just to help people decide whether a certain accessory is worth there money or not.

Classic controller or another Wii Points card? Decisions, decisions, me I chose the Classic Controller and I can say it was worth my money. It’s sleek and fits right in alongside the Wii and the Wii-mote, it has the traditional D-pad, an absolute must for games like Super Mario Bros. It also has two analog sticks, which come in handy when playing games like Super Mario 64, then there’s you’re a, b, x, y, R, L, Zr, Zl, Start/+, Select/-, and the Home button. It’s nice and compact and everything is easy to reach with your fingers. Another bonus is it connects to the Wii-mote the same way the Nunchuk does so you don’t have to have a wire coming out of your Wii like you would need with the Gamecube Controller.

I find that when playing games on the Virtual Console, using the Classic controller feels better and is easier then using the Gamecube Controller, and being merely 20-25$ (depending on were you live) it’s not very expensive.

So all and all the Classic Controller, is a must have for those awesome classics on the Virtual Console, it’s cheap and effective. You gotta love it!

Ditto! I love the classic controller for these reasons inexpensive, simple, effective, and both innovative at the same time, Nintendo Rocks!!!

I agree, I have two of them and they are working great, even on SMB 64!

RE: alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

I've thought about it a few times but feel my money would be better spent on Wii points and games since I have a GameCube controller. I havn't tried the classic (no doubt it's probably better for most VC games than the Cube controller) but my GameCube pad will do me fine.

RE: alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

I personally LOVE the Classic Controller. The design is flawless. In fact, it feels better (and more comfortable) in my hands than the GC controllers. I wish I could use the classic controller for my GC games! *sigh*

Also, has anyone else noticed that little button at the top-center of the controller? If you look at the bottom/back of the controller when you press it, there are clearly 2 slots that have a release mechanism. I wonder what they are planning for this controller?? It makes me very suspect. I'm forced to wonder if they're planning on releasing some sort of add-ons that attach to the classic controller.... Any thoughts?

RE: alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

I wish the controller was a little larger and the analog sticks were farther apart, but besides that, I really enjoy playing Super Mario World with it.

Dude thats wat i thought and i had an extra 20 bucks so i just got it at gamestop...I thought that if i didn't like it that i could return it within 7 days. So i get home and start plying Super mario world and i thought that it really added to the experiance! It feels better the the GC controler and is just that much more fun!

RE: alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

i'm waiting for them to bundle it with Wii points, then I'll buy it. I personally don't believe its worth $20...but if you want to spend your money that way...

RE: alex51011 Reviews: The Classic Controller

I'm going to once again say. It's very worth it.

Hell you spend 20 dollars for wii points and end up buying a max of 4 games. So, the classic controller isn't that expensive, especially sense it feels and controls so well.
