alex51011 and Mr.Luben special presentation: Which is better? Oot or TP?

Welcome Wiiloaded people to the first edition of Ocarina of time VS. Twilight Princess By Mr.Luben and Alex51011. I, Mr.Luben, will be taking the side of Ocarina of time while my friend here, (Hey people it's Alex), will be handling Twilight Princess. In this first edition, we shale be discussing the story.. So if you’re ready, let the comparison begin! Huzzah!

In Ocarina of Time, you are a small boy named link, living in the Kokiri Forest who has no fairy. Then one day, a fairy appears to you and tells you that the great Deku tree wants to speak to you. Once you find yourself a sword and a shield, you go to meet with the Deku tree. The Deku tree tells you of a curse that was put upon him. He gives link the task of finding the curse inside him and destroying it. After many puzzles and troubles, you find the giant spider and destroy it ending the curse on the great Deku tree. Once outside again, the Deku tree tells you of the three goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore. When they left the land to return to the heavens they left a power that would grant the wishes of anyone who touched it — the Triforce. The Triforce was sealed in another dimension called the Sacred Realm, which is guarded by the Master Sword in the Temple of Time. The Deku tree also speaks of a man in black armor (Ganondorf) who cast the dreadful curse on him and how this man seeks the Triforce for his own evil intentions. Sadly, the great Deku tree is beyond saving at this point so he gives Link the Kokiri Emerald (the Spiritual Stone of the forest) to protect it from the evil man in black armor. The last words of the Deku tree were a wish that link would go to Princess Zelda to fulfill his destiny of saving Hyrule from the evil of Ganondorf.

The thing that makes this story so great is that it’s new and it’s very fresh! Nintendo had decided to stray away from original Zelda story line and go with the very beginning of the time line. The game explains what Hyrule is, what the Triforce is, and everything else that really means anything in the Zelda series. One thing that I believe could have been better is the lack of cut scenes. There were maybe 3 or 4 really meaningful cut scenes that grab your imagination and attention. Also, there is no way to skip a cut scene witch isn’t a really big deal but if your playing for the 2nd or 3rd time, it gets annoying to see the same cut scene over and over again.

Well Mr.Luben you do make some nice points there. So I suppose I should give you people the low down on Twilight Princess’s Story. You start as a goat herder in a nice small village. But little do you know at the time the land of Hyrule has been taking under control by the evil Twilight realm. Soon after the opening your friends get captured by some orcs and you get knocked out. When you awake you run out towards the woods only to be encountered by the Twilight Realm. You are quickly sucked in by a giant creature, were you turn into a wolf, and eventually are rescued by a small creature named Midna; and so starts your adventures in Hyrule.

I found Twilight Princesses story good, it will keep you going and was pretty original yet borrowed from past games (Twilight Realm, hmm sounds a lot like a certain Shadow Realm?). But the story was still different and introduced a whole new way to play and tons of different places and characters. One thing I can say confidently is the fact that Twilight Princess certainly beats Ocarina of Time in terms of cut scenes. There are tons of cut scenes that help bring the story together.  Truly they look great and beat out Ocarina of Times cut scenes. But I do have to say while Twilight Princess has a wonderful story Ocarina of Time really set the bar and Twilight Princess simply continues with that by offering a great story as well.

So after some debate we will have to say that due to the fact that the Ocarina of Times story simply set off most of the stories after words and is the beginning of the stories to follow. So without further ado; the winner out of the Story is:

OCARINA OF TIME.

So come back soon to see the rest of our full length feature were we will discuss the following:

Visuals

Sound

Gameplay

Lasting Appeal

So remember people, keep on reading and keep on reviewing!

Alex51011 and Mr.Luben out!

You made the right choice.

OOT >>>>>>>>>>>>> TP.
