Acronyms FTW! ^^

So yeah, I've just noticed an odd anomaly with the NDSL WFC. WFC works beautifully with Pokemon Pearl, but Tetris DS won't connect at all, even when I go into the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup" (you know, the generic wifi setup screen that you'll see no matter what game pack is inserted when you go to edit the WFC settings) from the Tetris WFC menu and test the connection. It's the exact same connection that Pkmn Pearl uses. So, I was puzzled. I switched back to Pearl and went into Pearl's WFC settings, tested the connection, still working beautifully in Pearl.

Again, I loaded Tetris DS and tried it. Failure.

What the heck is going on?

So to make sure I wasn't losing my mind, I popped in MPH. It failed also! "No access point in range."

At this point I thought I must be losing my mind, so I tested Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and Yu-Gi-Oh GX. GX worked perfectly (I even played a duel since I had it loaded/connected anyway). Animal Crossing worked fine. Mario Kart wouldn't connect.

I thought no matter what game it is, it uses the same (generic?) WFC connection program in the DS. Is it actually separate WFC code in each game that just looks exactly the same? This sucks. I can't register a FC for Mario Kart or Tetris DS now. I already have one for MPH, though.

Has anyone else had a problem similiar to this with any game? (Works perfectly in one game but not at all from another game)
go to The Nintendo WFC Website

you can look at the game's servers and see what's up
Unless the server being down (which it is not) causes the error 51300 "No access point in range" then I don't think that has anything to do with it. But thanks Smile
Turn your router on 802.11b mode only
It is on 802.11b. My router is fine.

EDIT: If it was randomly letting games on sometimes and not at other times, no matter what game, I might think the router has anything to do with this. It's very consistent to particular games.
Hey. Did you ever figure this out out? I'm seeing exactly the same thing. I have various wifi games which all work fine. (So my router is set up correctly and my wifi settings are also correct.) but Puzzle League always gives me a 51300 error. http://www.nintendowifi.com says the error means "The WEP key for the Access Point you are attempting to connect to has changed since you last connected." which is rubbish. I've verified and re-entered they WEP key and played other games.

Anyone got any ideas? Is this game just broken?
Strange. Do you have a friend with a copy of the game, or a second DS? I haven't had this problem. The only wireless problem I've had was transferring pokemon from my brother's DS copy of diamond to his Wii copy of PBR.
I reconfigured my DS WFC to use static IP, instead of DHCP, and Now Tetris DS WFC is working. I'm about to test Mario Kart again as well. I'll let you know if that one works too.

EDIT: Yeah, Mario Kart is working with WFC now, too. I'm not sure if the static IP settings did it or not, but it works.
Well, I'm already using static IPs. (I had to turn dynamic IPs off to get the thing to work in the first place!)
I don't have a second DS but I have a friend with a DS so I guess the only thing I can do is lend the game to him to try. Thanks for the responses...
What game(s) are you having trouble with? For me it was only Mario Kart, MPH, and Tetris DS. (games that came out early in NDS life time) and I think that's what it was. The older games probably have a version on WFC that has a slight bug in it or something.
Actually I never had any trouble with Tetris DS, I got a friends code for Animal Crossing and I've gone online with that 42 classics game (clubhouse games in the US I think). The one I'm actually having trouble with is Puzzle League which has only just come out over here. My first thought was that maybe there are some separate European servers for this game which weren't up yet but I've seen various people saying they could get online.

*shrugs*

Anyways, I took your advice and lent the game to a fellow DS owner to find out if it works for them (no word yet though...). I'll also check those other threads... Thanks for the replies!
do this reset the router and put everything like you had it before plus make sure the transmission rate is at 1-2 mb
OK... I'll give it a go once I get the game back. Thanks!
your welcome buddy
Well... After changing almost every option available to me in my router, the problem seems to be setting my wireless network to be invisible. If I leave it visible then puzzle league has no problem. If I hide it then it fails, even though this isn't a problem for any other wifi game!

How mad is that?

Oh well. It's working now. Thanks to all who replied... I think it's time for me to take this thing online and doubtless get my rear end well and truly kicked.
Lol, as long as you have it working. My internet all of a sudden loses connection when I try to access WFC. Then I just turn it off for like 15 mins and it works again.
Yeah, nintendowifi.com recommends having your router always visible. Apparently it doesn't affect every game, but I'm glad to hear you figured it out.
