LOL, I know..... According to this thing I got from them, average debt after scholarship and working is 20-30k

University of Michigan would give me both need-based and Academic-based Financial aid, along with being half the price.

Those are my mains. Although Rochester Tech, Mich Tech, GA tech, and cornell will be getting apps.
I'm going into 10th grade next year, taking:
-Chemistry honors
-English honors
-Algebra 2 honors
-World History honors
So yeah... I might not be able to go on WiiLoaded as much as I want to... at least I don't start till the 10th.

People say debt doesn't matter, and you should go to the best college you can get into are full of it. Once you get a job, it's illegal for them to discriminate by pay over your previous education, so all that debt is useless, except for having higher payments with the same salary each month. Promotions rely more on performance than on where you went to school, too.

It might be illegal, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It costs more for a reason...Most ivy-league schools are famous for their graduate research finances, not necessarily their exceptional education for undergrads. (IE: teachers aids, monstrous class size)

Actually, there are ever getting so stricter rules about this coming from the government. (I'm against it, because it's authoritarian). Also, you do realize Ivy League only symbolizes a sports division, and nothing more? It's a name becuase good schools are part of it, but it's really not symbolic of the school being good.

Yes, I know. But everyone gets what I'm saying....including you

Also, I'm pretty sure that UM will not let me minor in English, but MIT will. (and it's a surprisingly great program too)

Plus, even if they take the books, they give you pocket change, at best, for them, and go around and resell them for a hefty price anyway.

thats why you go to sites online, and sell them yourself. i know i made back a LOT more doing it that way than going through my school's bookstore. ebay and amazon.com are awesome places to get/sell textbooks.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. Most quotes I have gotten from various colleges are 1-2,000 dollars.

yeah... buying online is the way to go. i usually keep my books for future reference, since i'm going to be a teacher. but i get $300 for books from my scholarship... this year at the bookstore the 4 books i needed would have been about $350 (used)... i got them online instead for $65, including the extra-fast shipping

exactly. everything's cheaper online, as long as you know how to find it. even my art supplies are jacked up in price at my school's book store (and there is NO returning those...), so i go online to some art stores, which are always having sales, and buy them there

also, try Barnes and Nobles when searching for textbooks. They have a collection of smaller book stores that sell textbooks through them, and sometimes you can get more discounts that way.
half.com is my recommendation... $4.22 book that's usually $90 FTW

Well, I kept most of them, since I was not going to let myself get heisted. Perhaps some of them I can sell, I imagine a good percentage of them are useless now, however.
