there are half a dozen threads with E3 rumors. how is this thing dead?

I remember seeing an E3 rumor that Nintendo won't be showinganything new this year.

They will introduce a few more Wii channels including a Wii Communication Channel that allows you to video chat with your buddies online. This works together with a new Wii headset that contains a microphone and a earpiece, much like the X360's.

Another breakthru is "Wii 3D Glasses". They are nothing but two pieces of polarizer that turn on and off. The glasses are plugged into the Wiimote that receives video frame sync signals to determine when to turn on the left hand glass for one frame, and then turn on the right glass on the next video frame, and repeats. Different video frames enters a player's brain to create a 3D effect. The first game that will make use of this technology is Mario True3D.

Also will be revealed is: there IS 4 channel surround for the Wii. "Wii Speakers" are optional plug ins to Wiimotes. If you have two spare Wiimotes, you may purchase two Wii Speakers. Plug each speaker into a Wiimote and supply the speaker with external power. Put the speakers behind you just like where you would normally put the surround speakers.

New rumor for E3

Sources say that the Wii version of Mario Kart - which is said to be revealed at E3 - will be out this year in Europe...

One of our trusted sources has given us some news about the Wii version of Mario Kart.

The game will be shown at this year's E3, which is something that everything expects anyway. What's more is that it will be release this year in Europe. Specific details on the game are still unknown - just the planned release date and the fact that it exists is known - but we will find all that out next week anyway.

Mario Kart for the Wii will be a "replacement" for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Europe, which will sadly miss Europe this year, and it will be out early 2008 instead. However, this also means that the US will not see Mario Kart until early 2008, and they will be getting Smash Bros. Brawl in 2007. This means that Nintendo fans in both Europe and the US will have something to moan about (they'll have something to be glad about, too....but there will probably be more moaning).

Also note that at the beginning of June Patrick Nagel, Deputy Marketing Manager for Nintendo Germany, stated that Europe will see Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Kart in 2007. We have reason to believe that he really was speaking the truth then.

As we have already said, we trust this source, but have put this up as rumour rather than news because we have no official way to back it up. You'll just have to wait and see.

Even with a diminished E3, there's no controlling the wave of rumors that hit the Internet every year before the show. Why fight it? Rumor: The dentist game we've all been expecting since Nintendo first revealed the Wii remote will finally be announced. Titled Open Wide, this orthodontic release will feature minigames like filling cavities and fleecing parents out of thousands of dollars by recommending that their children wear braces for the next decade. Though you'll be able to trade dental x-rays with your friends, online multiplayer support will not be included. According to developers, working with Nintendo's WiFi connection was like pulling teeth. Har har har!

there's alot of speculation about Mario Kart Wii going around. either there's actually something to it, or it's just the most likely thing so everyone's guessing the same thing, or one site said it and everyone else jumped on it. damn conformists

i'm glad its next. something to look foward to. but this game is looking more a "sequel" to Mario Kart DS. the logo is even similar. i wonder if there'll be some connection.
