Hot on the heels of the announcement that the Xbox 360's failure rate is around 30%, game store managers are reporting that Wii and PS3 failure rates are under 1%. The managers claim that no broken or bricked Wiis have been returned to their stores.
While it's good to hear, there could be more to this than meets the eye. When there's a problem with a Nintendo console, the company encourages that the consummer contact them directly instead of going to the store where they bought the console. So the failure rate could be higher then we're being led to believe but I still doubt it's above or even near 30%.

It's just another way of saying broken. Because once your console is broken, it becomes nothing more than a shiny, expensive "brick".
That's awesome I suppose. There haven't been many problems a of late.
When I first got mine, I had problems, but it's fine now, it's not like i've gone threw 4 broken 'bricks'.
another thind that you can consider, is if the person buys the store warranty they offer when you buy the console.
Yeah, I think Xindrix has a point about Nintendo wanting to handle the problems. It's a good way to keep the spoiled systems from detouring other would-be buyers. Smart on Nintendo's part. I doubt that they have anywhere near as many problems as the 360 though.
Yeah this definately is deterring me from getting a 360, maybe i will just wait the year or two for sony to drop the price point on the ps3 cause i am not sure if i wanna chance 30%
I heard about the 360's this morning. Something like 1 in 5 360's is/was broken. I was gonna ask where the PS3 stands on this issue. But since nobody's buyin em it doesn't matter, does it?
Personally I've yet to have a single problem with my wii.
