I think some people still wonder why Sony is playing the PSTwo card still. I mean they have the PS3 out and it's been having tons of issue, and sales can't seem to take off.

I think what Sony is doing with the PSTwo is very smart. The system is still selling games, and even if everyone goes out and buys one of these revamped systems it doesn't hurt the PS3. Eventually PSTwo software will fade away, and when those gamers want something more, they'll probably purchase a PS3 to get it.

Either way, Sony is still making money off the PSTwo, and I'm not sure how that can be bad under any circumstance.

What do you think?
Milk the cash cow until she's dry... It's worked for nintendo all these years with the GB and it's various lines.

QFT. Milk the Cash cow until she's dead.

I prefer mine, much more animal friendly...
You didn't ask if it hurts Sony, you asked if it hurts the PS3 (sales). The answer is yes... the PS3 is $600, and the average consumer sees no reason to pay that much when they can get a PS2 for so much cheaper, which still does the trick for most of the population. However, this has left room for systems like the Wii to come in and catch that segment that wants to get a new system without dropping huge amounts of money to get it.

Look at how long the NES was supported by Nintendo! They ran the NES and SNES side by side for the longest.

I believe if the PS3 would have been a hit, the PS2 would have been retired much faster, in order to get people to transition. The PS3 bombed, and thus they are hanging onto the PS2 to bring in money for as long as possible.
at 99 bucks its a great buy, there are tons of great games for it and will buy time for most folks until they can get a PS3

its a great idea...cant find a wii anywhere, get a ps2 instead when its tired, maybe you can afford the PS3 upgrade
