Metroid is a single player game. Let's not forget that the multiplayer in Echoes sucked terribly.
And the multiplayer in Hunters was glitchy.
Metroid isnt known for multiplayer, so no online wont hurt it. Smash Bros. on the other hand is all multiplayer. practically every mulitplayer game you see is going online.

anyways with Brawl so far away, how do you plan on keeping busy?
By playing SSBM and hoping for a Freeloader to be released so I can importt Metroid Prime 3, upcoming Wii Game of the Year.
lol. i'm thinking the other regions will get Metroid this year, and Mario and Brawl could be world wide release since they didnt specify the region.
Once Metroid is out, I'll be fine until Galaxy, and then move onto Brawl, throwing Madden 08 and Guitar Hero III in between somewhere.
Until then however I guess I can go with my week old copy of Madden 07 while renting Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Elebits, The Godfather, Resident Evil, and/or Mario Strikers Charged at some point.
The good new for you LMX is that Datel has been working on a Freeloader since December but you never know with it since a firmware update could block it. A modchip could be more of a sure thing but at some point if it were to be blocked by a firmware update, it could brick your Wii. Tough choice. :\

they've shown the Box Art, and theres no sign of the blue Wi-fi sticker, but you never know. theres still another month and a half to go.

On the Smash site, only the NA Version showed the release date, all the others didn't.

Well Cloud, M$ is releasing Halo 3 worldwide on the same day. And next year Konami is releasing MGS4 worldwide on the same day. So it looks like only Nintendo isn't competent enough to do worldwide releases.

1.Japan
2.North America (U.S./Canada)
3.U.K. (sometimes more than north America.)
4.Australia
5.anywhere else.
Australia got Pokemon Diamond and Pearl before UK, so I'd say Nintendo likes us and the UK almost equally.

Brawl is what I'm waiting for the most as I've said before. At least it's coming this year. Not to mention it will have Online play so that more than makes up for the delay to me.
