Along with some new Corruption info, Nintendo also gave us some new screenshots from the game to drool over. The game seems to be getting better and sharper visually, which is good to see, considering what Wii's been getting so far. Hopefully, third parties will be able to take a hint and will start to put a little more effort into their Wii games. Check out all the screenshots over at IGN.

I love Samus' corrupted suit. The games graphics are beautiful and it's still considered a first gen Wii title. Just think what kind games we'll be getting in a couple of years.
The hyper mode they spoke of, was cool.

I wonder what happens if she gets corrupted.
She gets more powerful until the suit is fully corrupted, which would (at least I assume) terminate her.
If the suit is corrupted, how would it kill her? Unless the suit has got a mind of its self o_o
The suit could, you know, shut down on her.
okay now that should be samus' FS.
I like that idea though. You can get only so much more powerful until the power would be too great and destroy you.
Especially since this suit was made for her, so only her and the Chozo's would have any idea how to work it.

I look forward to seeing how this "corruption" works.
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

knowing Metroid, nothing is ever certain death. it always bleeds your life, so i'd expect a short period where your life is rapidly depleted until Samus is back in control of her self and her armor. then i'd also expect power ups that extend the duration the hyper mode can be enabled

this takes me back to the best weapon in the Metroid series and one of the best weapons in any game, Samus's Hyper Beam from Super Metroid. damn that thing friggin' kicked ass
I think we should definitely expect health being drained whilst you use Hyper Mode. Just wondering whether it'll automatically switch over again or whether you have to switch it off before your health reaches zero.
i hope switch it back manually. for one, if i wanna go kamakaze and try to kill myself by obliterating everything around me in hyper mode, i want the option. 2nd, it's just more realistic to do it yourself instead of automatically
Exactly what I was thinking. A timed Hyper Mode wouldn't be much fun.
well it's going to be timed, that's certain. thing is how long and how effective it will be. judging by the vid though, Samus was one-shotting basterds with it, so i'm assuming uber-powerful
Well if its uber-powerful it'll drain health uber-fast or only last a very short time. Or a limitation similar to those, because we don't want the Hyper Mode making the game easy.
I doubt it will make the game easier, but it will add strategy for picking the right time to use it.
from what I saw, it looks like you enter and leave Hyper Mode manually. If you don't get out of it in time, you're corrupted. I feel like it would be a serious depletion of health, resulting in death if you're already close to losing it all. Or when you get corrupted, you lose control of yourself for a while, going on a power-hungry spree and leave yourself open to attacks from the enemy.

It also looks like you're in Hyper Mode for a short period of time, not more than a few seconds. Uber-powerful attacks, but at what price?

Whatever might happen once you're corrupted, I'm sure it'll be awesome yet painful. I can't wait to get my hands on this...
hmmm...a berserker period after the corruption would be pretty cool. receive increased damage due to lack of energy for shielding or something like that. that'd be cool

i'm kinda sketchy though. Metroid games are always about upgrades. upgrade the suit to move underwater. upgrade missles to super missles. upgrade cannon to freeze and shoot through walls. if the hyper mode is added at the beginning and stays as is throughout the game, it'll be kinda disappointing. there should be something added to the the hyper mode, or alterations throughout the game
Alot of Nintendo games are about collecting upgrades, I mean look at Zelda. Enter a temple, collect item, use item to solve puzzle, use item to beat boss, rinse and repeat.

It may cause you less damage over time. Like in MP2 how there was the Dark World, its atmosphere injured you in the Varia Suit at a rapid pace. Then you obtained the Dark Suit and the damage was halved. Then you obtained the Light Suit and you were immune to it.
Oh god...

I missed soooo much....

Why did sonshine have to be the same days as E3....
