I went and seen the new harry potter movie this past weekend, and while walking into the theater I saw the transformers movie posters up around the entrance way. It was then that I asked myself, why would they release the transformers so closely to the order of the phoenix. I mean everyone knew harry potter would be huge (even those people who don't like the movies). So now I wonder if the transformers won't do as well because it was released so close to harry potter. I think it's a shame.
Also, does anyone know how much it cost to make The Transformers?
1. Transformers > Harry Potter.
2. Transformers cost $150 million to create, every cent worth it.
well, Transformers came out about a week or so before Harry Potter, so it had a good solid week of sales before Potter came into the picture. It's not like you can only see one movie a month, so I don't think Transformers will suffer at the hands of a wizard...I went to see Transformers on a Saturday, then on Wednesday (i think it was) i went to see Harry Potter, and I'm planning on going to see Transformers again.
In that week before Harry Potter, Transformers did amazingly, and it impressed me so much more than Potter did. Honestly, Transformers is the better movie, and I think that once all the Potter fans are done giving their support for the movie, it'll sink down below the Transformers. Potter was really one of those "you had to see the other ones or read the book to really know the whole story" movies, while Transformers could be watched and enjoyed and understood by anybody that happened to walk in to watch it, fan or newcomer.
I'm not saying 1 is better then the other, but as of right now Yahoo is saying transformers has made U.S. Box Office: $155,405,412. I think if it had come out a month before harry potter or so, it would have made a lot more money.
I'm not sure there's any movie that can go toe to toe with a harry potter movies (maybe spiderman), but I really wish Transformers wouldn't have been the one to try, cause this is a really cool movie and I would have like to see it make a lot more money.
Don't count Transformers out yet; it's still in theaters, and I think that after the big rush of people going for Harry Potter is over, Transformers will pull through with success.
Lord of the Rings goes toes to toes with that little lame wizard. And even if it doesn't beat it money-wise, it beats it quality-wise by miles.
Potter FTL.
Transformers was better than HP5 for sure. HP will be unstoppable for at least 3 or 4 weeks but it's die down eventually.
Transformers made 152.1 million by the following Monday compared to Harry potter's 140+ million by today.
1. Transformers > Harry Potter.
2. Transformers cost $150 million to create, every cent worth it.
Transformers already broke even and now anything else is profit. Transformers is now past the $224 million mark here now.
i heard this movie is really good
Transformers is a 20 year old legacy. Harry Potter will never be able to beat that. But really, I found both movies to be enjoyable. But Transformers was so great you really had to see it in the theater. You could wait for a dvd release for Harry Potter.
I knew HP was gonna suck, but I went and saw it anyway. Its HP, man!
It did suck.
I'm gonna see transformers when I go to Canada this week.
