how long are the batteries gonna last?

will it work well on carpeting?

What kind of game would you like to see with the balance board?

Quote:
Before you start Wii Fit you need to calibrate the balance board to your weight. The game asks you to step off the board so it zeroes itself then you step on it. If you slouch or shift your weight in an awkward position during the calibration the balance board will register that as your zero point. I usually stand at an angle with my weight shifted on my left and that messed up the calibration during the Yoga demos. The second time around I tried standing perfectly straight and that made the balance board work much better.

The Wii Balance Board is a wireless device and after some extra questions during the demo I found out it requires 4 AA batteries to power it. When I asked about battery life I couldn’t get a clear answer on how long the batteries would last. Wii Fit comes with a single balance board and the rep told me balance board will not be a one shot deal. There are plans to develop other titles with it in mind besides Wii Fit. A surfing game seems like a good fit for the balance board or a Wii-make of Kirby Tilt & Tumble.

Nooooooooooooooooo. Not more batteries.
surfing, snowboarding, skiing...that type of game has endless possibilities. I forsee a lot of minigame games, which isn't really what i want, but I'll have to deal. a game like Tilt and Tumble, using the board, would make me want the game. *crosses fingers for more big-name, non-mini-game games*
LZ pretty much summed it up. I could see a Tony Hawk game or SSX game making use of it. Circus game where you have to balance and walk on a tight rope...? Pogo Stick simulator...?
It needs batteries, why? I wonder if a company will release a charger for it.
The batteries should last quite some time if you go by typical bathroom scales, but then again I have little idea as to what technology they are using and the power consumed. Apparently more than your typical scale if they have 4 AA's.
SSX!? that'll be friggin KICKASS.
I was thinking the same thing. You wont have to go to a Gameworks type place anymore to play a Skiing/Snowboarding/Skateboarding game with your feet. I think if these games actually do work for the Wii Balance Board it will be a big step towards virtual reality.

i slightly dislike nintendo for not making wiimotes re-chargeable it makes me so mad!SulkSulkSulk

You know that you can buy a Nyko charger that recharges 2 Wii-motes at once right? Also they just came out with another that can charge up to 4 at once.
yeah ive never got the money though:/ and my parents wont chip in:/
i wanna see a lot of sports on it
Well, I'm saving batteries now that I have a Wiimote charge station, but... now I'll need to get one for the balance board*. Toungue
I like the potential of other games for it.

*I doubt this will exist.
