The GBA was the first video game system I ever had. My parents believed in a non video game householf for ten bleeping years before I finally got a GBA during the summer going into fifth grade. Believe me I was grateful, I played it for hours on end, and spent all of my money on new games. I am forevever indebted to my GBA, for without it, I wouldn't be the gamer I am today. You wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at me, (or reading my profile), that I lived without video games for a whole decade. Thanks Miyamoto, I'll repay you once I am a millionaire

*Sniff* That... was beautiful!
GBA was one of my favorite consoles...evarrr. No joke, it's extremely underrated and it revolutionized portable gaming for the era it was prospering in. To prove it, it's still doing well.

Too bad it got crapped up with "Raven Shopping Spree" and "Hannah Montana Banana Jamma" or whatever the hell they're called.
hm...I agree with this kid over here too.
Yeah.... when 3D stuff started appearing on it......I was in shock. haha
Long live the GBA!
Dang, i had A Gba, like... 5 years ago, then my friend stole it.. some friend... And yeah, but i enjoyed it.... although im suprised its still selling cause it seems the DS is completely taking over..
But i guess the fans love it?
But i can say, the GBA is superr, awsome x8232321

Go suner^_^
A curse upon ye mate who squandered yer GBA! *olde english cursing over*
The GBA is super special awesome. It will always be there for us.
yeah of course it's not dead. 50 games a month are coming out per month. It's still a hit!!!!!

Even if no one is making new properties, a nice steady stream of Player's Choice titles should come out. Golden Sun, Castlevania (especially Circle of the Moon. That was my first Castlevania game, and I miss it), and other big hits that are off the market now.
For all practical purposes, the GBA is dead. The 7th generation has hit full swing, leaving any serious development for the GBA behind. That's not to say it wasn't an awesome handheld, in fact I think it would have survived much longer if it wasn't for Sony announcing the PSP. Had the PSP not come about, we probably would not have seen the advent of the DS, but alas, the GBA was cut down in its prime because of the arrival of these two next-gen handhelds. Right now, all it does is generate hardware sales for Nintendo. I suppose hardcore gamers would still buy it so they can play their old GB games, but that's about it. Sorry Miyamoto, as much as I worship you, I'm going to have to say that the GBA is a thing of the past now.
Why would people buy a GBA when they can just get a DS which plays all the GBA games as well as DS games? I guess you'd save money, but you know that if you're buying a GBA, you're going to buy a DS eventually. Just fork out the money up front and get the all inclusive handheld.
I suppose there's possibility for making another GBA, but why? The DS has so much more to it, and it's not like you can't play anything on the DS which resembles the GBA. There are several games on the DS which don't use the stylus at all, and that's OK. The DS includes all the great properties of the GBA and expands upon then in so many ways. There's just no reason to go back at the time. Nintendo would have to come up with something completely different for a new handheld, but then it wouldn't really be a Gameboy then. It'd be a Nintendo Portable-Toaster-and-Mind-Reader.
Okay, since this thread was made a year ago, I think Miyamoto would call it dead too.
I second that one. It's still a good system nevertheless.

True, but the GBA can play original GameBoy and GameBoy color games, whilst the DS can not.
I'm not too fond of my GBA I just find the dull screen to be really annoying but i don't think i'd ever get rid of it.
