Considering that the game won't be released on American shores until early 2008, it's probably much too early to consider any announced price for Wii Fit to be definite. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime even stated that the company still needs to research the cost of its Balance Board controller before pricing can be accurately determined.

Wii Fit's product pages at EB Games and GameStop, however, list a placeholder price which is pretty much in line with what we're expecting -- $69.99. That might seem like highway robbery to those who naively hoped for the usual $50, but when you compare it with the expensive fares people will be paying to play games like Guitar Hero 3 or Rock Band, the bundle's pricing doesn't seem too unreasonable. Our only concern is that $70 might be too much for the casual audience Nintendo is hoping to attract with Wii Fit.

That price is fine, don't change it please! It's obvious that Wii Fit will be more expensive than your average retail game, so this is pretty much perfect for me.

That price would make me not want to buy the game, but we have hear official word.
I'd still like it to be $50, but $70 is pretty reasonable considering it comes with the balance board, especially if the board will be compatible with more than just Wii Fit.
well the mainstream would see it as the price of the balance board with the game. I suppose that $70 wouldn't be too bad of a price point, but I expect $65 or less
they'd have to show at least 3 to 5 good games that use the balance board before i spend $70 on a game i can spend else where.

Same.
I won't be spending $70 for a balance board compatible with one game. (If a family member wants it... I'm not paying for it d: )

It depends on how fleshed out Wii Fit is if I'd spend the cash...
This game looks awesome and I would pay whatever the amount in £'s, can't be bothered to get a money converter thing LOL.
Anyway, the balance board is quite big so it's going to come in a big box, which is always fun!

Maybe I should just become really inactive, then I can get it from a family member.
I like your thinking

not too bad IMO, i'll get it, just for the potential games
might have to buy 2 for multiplayer
I am still unsure about just buying one let alone two. I think I will wait to see what other games use the board and buy it when they come out.
Thats not a bad price.

I like your thinking

Thanks
$70 is okay, since it doubles as kind of a scale, but I'd still much rather it be $50.

I completely agree. Nintendo can't expect to market to the softcore gamer with a $70 pricetag, regardless of how good of a deal it is.
If you think about it, this is a great deal. The Balance Board seems to be a pretty expensive piece of equipment. Or perhaps I'm just naive?
People who are fitness crazy can spend hundreds of dolors a month on vitamins and such, so I can see a mom, dad, or 20-30 year old single someone picking this up. If it is sensitive enough to tell your weight and comes with decent software...it will sell for $70.
^I think that would be a good way to sell the game. If Nintendo made a commercial where they added up all the things seperately, and then said "or you could buy WiiFit for $70." That would probably work.
Then again, I would laugh if anyone thought that WiiFit would help them lose a significant amount of weight. Its just a sales ploy.
