Just have a question thats been bugging me. Now that I have some wii friends. I go to the mii channel. I have a bunch of mii's running around. I don't really pay that much attention but I think the wii friend people I have, play on my team sometimes when I play wii sports. What else can I do with the wii friends? I mean what exactly do we want to add wii friends for anyway, other than to send messages back and forth?

To play Wifi enabled games when they come out, among other things.

possibly. it's still kind of unsure whether Wi-Fi games will use your Wii friends list or their own FC and have nothing to do with the Wii

as of the moment, you can send messages via Wii and Miis. that's about it

Hopefully they do it off the Wii, not the games. I think the only reason they did that with the DS is because they were developing the DS Lite.
