^ Agreed, Sony could of done alot more to a new PSP than they are doing. Its a waste really. Do the guys at Sony actually think a new PSP will affect there sales by much? No. Alot of consumers will not even notice the difference.
Everyone that is looking forward to Crisis Core I would hope realize that I'm sure within about 6 months or so after it's release and poor sales compared to what Square anticipated will wind up porting it to the PS2 to increase sales.
More people like the DS, there's no complex answer. The games on the DS are more appealing, and people just don't wanna play on a TV screen. Hence why no one actually bought the GBA player.

But you see the thing is. The DS was worth buying even in its phat form. The DSLite merely gave it a smexier look.

The original PSP is not worth its price tag, and thus the upgraded Slim version still isn't appealing enough.

ditto

The new one won't play homebrew most likely.

Sony looking for a way to safely support homebrew

IGN PSP had their latest mailbag questions actually answered by Sony reps. The results were fairly interesting, especially when the issue of homebrew came up. IGN user carterman asked "Why not have some homebrew game support?" To which Jack Tretton replied, "I think that is something that is in the works. We certainly see some of the stuff that has been done via homebrew, and it's incredibly creative. And I think we'd like to try and tap into that a little bit more." Dave Karraker added to Jack's answer by stating that Sony is trying to figure out how to support homebrew without putting the PSP in danger. Does this mean that Sony is working on their own PSP answer to XNA? Sounds like it could be.
